A touch input device capable of detecting a pressure of a touch on a touch surface may be provided. The touch input device includes: a display panel; a substrate disposed under the display panel; and a pressure sensing unit. The pressure sensing unit includes a pressure sensor and a reference pressure sensor. When a pressure is applied to the touch surface, the display panel is bent. Electrical characteristics detected at the pressure sensor change by the bending of the display panel. A magnitude of the pressure applied to the touch surface is calculated based on a difference between a reference electrical characteristic calculated from electrical characteristics detected at the reference pressure sensor and the detected electrical characteristic calculated from the electrical characteristics detected at the pressure sensor.

A touch input device according to an embodiment is capable of detecting a pressure of a touch on a touch surface and may include: a display module; and a pressure sensor which is disposed at a position where a distance from a reference potential layer may vary according to the touch for the touch surface, the distance is changeable according to a pressure magnitude of the touch, the pressure sensor may output a signal including information on a capacitance which is changed according to the distance, the pressure sensor may include a plurality of electrodes to form a plurality of channel, and detect the magnitude of the pressure for the touch based on a change amount of a capacitance detected in the each channel and an SNR improvement scaling factor assigned to each of the channels.

In one embodiment, a touch sensor includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and a spacer layer located between the first electrode and the second electrode. One of the first electrode and the second electrode is a drive electrode to which a drive signal is applied. The other one of the first electrode and the second electrode is a receiving electrode that receives the drive signal by a mutual capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode. When an external pressure is applied to the first electrode through a display, the first electrode is concavely bent toward the second electrode. The mutual capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode changes according to a distance between the first electrode and the second electrode. The magnitude of the external pressure according to the change of the capacitance between the first electrode and the second electrode is detected.

Touch sensor

A touch input device which includes a display module and is capable of detecting a pressure may be provided. The touch input device includes: a display module including a flat portion and at least one curved portion which extends from the flat portion and is curved with a predetermined curvature; and a pressure detection module which is formed under the display module and detects a touch pressure applied to a surface of the display module. The pressure detection module detects the touch pressure on the basis of a capacitance change amount according to a distance change between a reference potential layer and the pressure detection module. As a result, the touch input device including various types and forms of the display modules is capable of efficiently detecting the touch position and touch pressure.

A touch input device may be provided which includes at least one cover and a display module disposed under the cover, and detects a pressure of a touch input to the cover. The touch input device includes: a housing which includes a bottom plate on which a battery and a mainboard are disposed; and a mid-frame which is disposed within the housing, is disposed under the display module, and is disposed on the battery and on the mainboard. The mid-frame includes a guide member which is disposed on a bottom surface of the mid-frame and is coupled to the bottom plate of the housing.

A method for correcting a touch pressure sensitivity may be provided that includes: a modeling profile data generation step of generating modeling profile data on the basis of a plurality of collected profile data; and a set profile data generation step of generating set profile data on the basis of the modeling profile data and a reference data of a predetermined touch input device. As a result, it is possible to correct the touch pressure sensitivity of a predetermined touch input device such that the touch pressure is sensed with a uniform sensitivity on the entire display surface of the touch input device.

A touch pressure sensitivity correction method may be provided that includes: defining a plurality of reference points on a touch sensor panel; generating a reference data for a capacitance change amount sensed by applying the same pressure to the plurality of reference points; generating an interpolated data corresponding to a capacitance change amount for a random point present between the plurality of reference points; calculating, on the basis of the reference data and interpolated data, with respect to the reference points and the random point respectively, a correction factor for correcting a sensitivity of a touch input device to a target value; and correcting uniformly for the touch pressure sensitivity of the touch input device by applying the calculated correction factor to each corresponding point.

The sensitivity compensation method includes: defining a plurality of reference points spaced apart from each other on a touch sensor panel; generating a reference data corresponding to a capacitance change amount sensed by applying a predetermined pressure to the plurality of reference points; generating, on the basis of the reference data, an interpolated data corresponding to a capacitance change amount for a random point present between the plurality of reference points; calculating, on the basis of the generated reference data and interpolated data, with respect to the reference point and random point respectively, a compensation factor for compensating a sensitivity of the touch input device to a target value; and compensating uniformly for the sensitivity of the touch input device by applying the calculated compensation factor to each corresponding points.
