A method and system are disclosed for controlling plating bath compositions. Speciation analyzers including HPLC and mass spectrometry are employed to separate, detect, identify, and quantify additives and degradation products. A control unit is linked to a plating bath interface, analyzer interface, and valves to control the flow of plating bath to an analyzer sampler and back to plating bath. For each degradation product, a response output is determined for at least one performance factor in terms of an additive equivalent amount that produces the same effect. A data processing unit receives concentration data for additives and degradation products from speciation analyzers and calculates an amount of each additive needed to replenish a used bath. As a result, the bleed-and-feed ratio for maintaining plating baths can be substantially reduced with significant productivity improvement and cost savings in terms of chemicals, chemical disposal, less down time and improved product quality.

The invention provides an improved, reduced streaking/filming dilute cleaning formulation which is to be used in a no-rinse cleaning application, preferably either by a dosing dispenser or in a combined cleaning tool which contains a cleaning head, a handle, a reservoir of the cleaning formulation mounted to said handle and a means for dispensing the cleaning formulation in a suitable direction relative to the cleaning head.

A method for cleaning a surface using a tool with both a cleaning head and a cleaning fluid reservoir housing coupled to an elongated handle, the method comprising the following steps: attaching a cleaning pad to the cleaning head; inserting a replaceable cleaning fluid reservoir into the housing; fluidically coupling the cleaning fluid reservoir to the cleaning head; dispensing controlled amounts of cleaning fluid from the reservoir onto a surface; and distributing the cleaning fluid evenly over the surface with the cleaning pad.

An aerosol antimicrobial composition is provided with the following ingredients: a) an anionic polymer or prepolymer; (b) a quaternary ammonium compound, the components (a) and (b) combining to form an antimicrobially effective complex; (c) at least one water-soluble or dispersible organic solvent having a vapor pressure of at least 0.001 mm Hg at 25&deg; C., said at least one organic solvent present in a solubilizing&mdash;or dispersion&mdash;effective amount; (d) an effective amount of a propellant; and (e) the remainder, water. Further is provided a novel method of decontaminating a surface fouled with microorganisms and a dispenser for said aerosol composition. The novel composition advantageously has both disinfectancy (contact efficacy) and residual antimicrobial efficacy.

Antimicrobial hard surface cleaner

A novel antibacterial cleaning composition which exhibits exceptional germicidal activity for sustained periods of time is provided. The antibacterial cleaning composition that includes: (a) a quaternary ammonium compound; (b) an anionic polymer having an acid number greater than 10 wherein the anionic polymer is partially or completely neutralized by the quaternary ammonium compound to form a polymer complex and wherein the polymer complex is greater than about 15% by weight of the solids in the composition; (c) a dispersing agent and/or solvent; and (d) water. The composition can be incorporated into the matrix of sponges. Alternatively, the quaternary ammonium compound can be complexed directly to cellulosic sponges that have been functionalized with anionic groups.
