A wireless device comprises a transmitter chain receiving a transmit signal from a UE. The transmitter chain amplifies the transmit signal to produce an amplified transmit signal that is transmitted to a BS. A receiver chain receives a receive signal from the BS. The receiver chain amplifies the receive signal to produce an amplified receive signal which is transmitted to the UE. A second receiver chain receives a second receive signal from the BS. The second receiver chain amplifies the second receive signal to produce a second amplified receive signal that is transmitted to the UE. The gain of the transmitter chain, the receive gain and the second receive chain are balanced. The transmitter chain, the receiver chain, and the second receiver chain each comprise a transmit variable attenuator, with gains set by a controller.

Bi-directional high power user equipment

A wireless communications system comprises a sector controller that includes a wireless transmitter, and a mobile subscriber station that includes a wireless receiver, and a memory. The wireless transmitter continuously transmitting frames. Each frame comprising a control field and the control field comprising a portion of an encryption certificate associated with the sector controller. The wireless receiver receives each frame and extracts the portion of the encryption certificate and stores the portion of an encryption certificate in the memory. The mobile subscriber station combines the portions of the encryption certificate stored in the memory and verifies that a complete encryption certificate has been received. After this the mobile subscriber station transmits its encryption certificate to the sector controller. The encryption certificates are based on an elliptic curve digital signature algorithm.

Certificate exchange mechanism for wireless networking

A system for communicating wireless signals between one or more sector controllers (SC) and one or more subscriber stations (SS) using different channels and different beams, wherein each of the one or more SS and the SC has a corresponding highly directional antenna; the one or more SC comprises a first SC; the one or more SS comprises a first SS; the first SS obtains network topology awareness (NTA) data from the first SC; the first SS selects a channel, a beam, and one of the one or more SC to establish an RF link based on the NTA data; and the first SS communicating with the selected SC using the established RF link.

System and method for wireless mobility protocol for highly directional antennas with network topology awareness

A method for determining isolation status of the RF repeater is provided. A modem in the repeater registers with a base transceiver station (BTS). Uplink output levels of a donor RF transceiver are calibrated and stored in the modem. The modem is synchronized to a BTS transmission received at the donor RF transceiver and the synchronization information is provided to a server RF transceiver of the repeater. Isolation detection and measurement can then be performed between donor transmit antenna and receive server antenna of the RF repeater and the automatic gain control parameter of donor RF transceiver and server RF transceiver are adjusted based upon the isolation detection and measurement value. The isolation and detection can be implemented in a co-processor coupled to the donor and server transceivers.

Isolation measurement and self oscillation prevention in TDD-OFDM repeater for wireless broadband distribution to shadowed areas

A cylindrical-shaped enclosure having tapered ends. The enclosure includes a module having a radio disposed on a printed circuit board and an antenna connected to the PCB. The enclosure has a main piece coupled to a lower piece and to a top piece, an optionally a fourth piece coupled to the top piece. A mounting subsystem is mounted to the main piece and includes a hole configured to receive therethrough a wires that connect to the printed circuit board. The antenna is configured to rotate about an axis that extends along a longest dimension of the enclosure. The module includes a metal plate to which the antenna is directly mechanically and electrically coupled without any cable such that the wires lack any control signals for controlling the antenna. The top and/or lower pieces can house any combination of a camera, an environmental sensor, security equipment, or a lighting system.

System and method for payload enclosure

A radio receiver includes a first diversity antenna structure, a second diversity antenna structure, a first RF receiver section, a second RF receiver section, a combining module, and a baseband processing module. The first diversity antenna structure provides the received inbound RF signals from one of the plurality of first antennas based on a first antenna selection signal to produce first received inbound RF signals. The second diversity antenna structure provides the received inbound RF signals from one of the plurality of second antennas based on a second antenna selection signal to produce second received inbound RF signals. The first and second RF receiver sections are operably coupled to convert the first and second received inbound RF signals into first and second inbound baseband signals, respectively. The combining module combines the first and second inbound baseband signals to produce inbound baseband signals.

The oscillation generating module is operably coupled to generate a plurality of local oscillations. The high frequency switching module is operably coupled to, for a first one of a plurality of transmission paths, provide one of the plurality of local oscillations when a first transmission path selection indication is in a first state and provide another one of the plurality of local oscillations when the first transmission path selection indication is in a second state and, for a second one of the plurality of transmission paths, provide the one of the plurality of local oscillations when a second transmission path selection indication is in a first state and provide the another one of the plurality of local oscillations when the second transmission path selection indication is in a second state.

Isolation measurement and self-oscillation prevention in TDD-OFDM repeater for wireless broadband distribution to shadowed areas

A radio frequency receiver front-end includes a low noise amplifier, a mixing stage, and a selectable channel filter. The low noise amplifier is operably coupled to amplify inbound RF signals to produce amplified inbound RF signals. The mixing stage is operably coupled to mix amplified inbound RF signals with a 1local oscillation to produce a 1intermediate frequency (IF) signal. The selectable channel filter is operably coupled to pass a 1channel of the 1IF signal when a channel select signal is in a 1state and to pass a 2channel of the 1IF signal when the channel select signal is in a 2state to produce a selected channel.

A method for reducing LO leakage in a radio frequency transmitter begins by producing analog outbound signals from digital outbound signals that represent transmit data. The processing continues by amplifying the analog outbound signals to produce amplified analog outbound signals. The process then continues by mixing the amplified analog outbound signals with a local oscillation to produce mixed signals having an LO leakage component. The processing then continues by attenuating the mixed signals having the LO leakage component to produce mixed signals having reduced LO leakage.
