The injection device comprises a housing designed or suitable for manual gripping, a container for a preparation attached/enclosed in the housing, an outlet for the preparation exposed with respect to the housing and a mechanism arranged for moving the preparation at least from the container through the outlet. The system comprises a set of at least two elements having different properties in at least one respect. The elements are designed for mechanical attachment to one and the same area part of the housing, one at the time. The method includes the steps of providing at least two elements having different properties in at least one respect, the elements being designed for mechanical attachment to one and the same area part of the housing, one at the time, selecting one element from the set, and attaching mechanically the selected element to said area part of the housing.

A system of marked medical containers comprises at least two containers having different properties in at least one respect, and at least one machine-readable marking on each of the containers, each marking being designed to allow discrimination between the difference in properties. Each marking allows discrimination between the difference by having at least one area with different absorbence or reflectance when irradiated with radiation in non-visible frequency ranges. A dispensing apparatus for a liquid product, the apparatus comprising a) a housing () or frame (), b) a receptacle () for the liquid with a feed nozzle () arranged substantially stationary with respect to the housing or frame, c) a dosing chamber () having an orifice (), d) a mechanism arranged to allow at least ejection of liquid through the orifice and e) a through passage () arranged to allow the ejected liquid to pass in a direction different from the feed nozzle or opening. The mechanism comprises a mobile element arranged movable with respect to the housing or frame between at least a first position in which the orifice of the dosing chamber and the feed nozzle or opening are in flow communication and a second position in which the orifice and the through passage are in flow communication and the mechanism is arranged to allow aspiration of liquid through the orifice when the mobile element is in the first position and ejection of liquid through the orifice when the mobile element is in the second position. A method for operating the device comprises the steps of i) connecting the orifice and the nozzle or opening in flow communication, ii) filling liquid into the dosing chamber through the orifice, iii) aligning the orifice with the through passage, and iv) ejecting liquid from the dosing chamber through the orifice.

Dispensing apparatus and method for liquid products, particularly medicinal products

Provided is a method for operating a preparation delivery device wherein the device comprises a) a container for the preparation having, or being prepared for the arrangement of, an opening, b) a mechanism operable to deliver at least part of the preparation in the container through the opening, c) attachment means for connection of the container to the mechanism and d) a sensor system arranged to detect at least one predetermined property of the container or its content. The method comprises transmitting radiation towards the container position or a part thereof to allow the radiation to be affected by the container position, receiving at least a part of the affected radiation from at least an area part of the container position in a non-imaging way and comparing the characteristics of the received radiation with a predetermined characteristic representative for the predetermined property to establish whether or not the predetermined property of the container is present.

A preparation delivery device comprising a) a container for the preparation having or being prepared for the arrangement of an opening, b) a mechanism operable to deliver at least part of the preparation in the container through the opening, c) attachment means for connection of the container to the mechanism and d) a sensor system arranged to detect at least one predetermined property of the container or its content. The device comprises a radiation transmitter arranged to irradiate the container position or a part thereof, a radiation receiver arranged to receive at least an area part of the radiation from the transmitter after the radiation having been affected by the container position and the receiver being designed to give an output response representative for the total radiation received from said area part. A method for operating the device comprises the step of transmitting radiation towards the container position or a part thereof to allow the radiation to be affected by the container position, receiving at least a part of the affected radiation from at least an area part of the container position in a non-imaging way and comparing the characteristics of the received radiation with a predetermined characteristic representative for the predetermined property to establish whether or not the predetermined property of the container is present.
