A metal door frame for a door opening comprising at least one first door frame segment for upper or side portions of the door opening, the at least one first door frame segment having a first molding flange, a first jamb face adjacent to the molding flange, and a first stop flange adjacent to the jamb face. The metal door frame includes at least one second door frame segment for upper and side portions of the door opening, the at least one second door frame segment having a second molding flange, a second jamb face adjacent to the molding flange, a second stop flange adjacent to the jamb face, a second stop face adjacent to the stop flange, and a third stop flange adjacent to the stop face. The metal door frame includes a thermally insulative layer between the first door frame segment and the second door frame segment.

A tornado door comprises a door body having spaced first and second exterior panels and a window panel sized to be oriented within an opening in the door body exterior panels. The door includes a plurality of S-shaped stiffeners spacing the interior sides of the door body first and second exterior panels and positioned about the periphery of the window panel forming a frame. A sealant establishes a seal between the window panel and the plurality of S-shaped stiffeners and between the window panel and the door body first or second exterior panel. The door further includes a cover ring placed on an exterior surface of one of the door body first or second exterior panels and juxtaposed with the plurality of S-shaped stiffeners. The cover ring and plurality of S-shaped stiffeners are intersecured using a plurality of fasteners which pass between the cover ring mounting holes through the door body first or second exterior panel and into the stiffener mounting holes.

Impact resistant window assembly for tornado door

An insulated fire door includes a door shell having spaced first and second exterior panels and a gypsum panel between the first and second exterior panels. The insulated fire door includes a plurality of spacers bonded across an interior side of each of the first and second exterior panels. The spacers maintain the gypsum panel in a spaced position from the interior sides of the first and second exterior panels as the door bows during a fire on one side of the door, until the gypsum disintegrates. Each of the spacers may have a flat portion contacting the gypsum panel, a leg extending from the flat portion spacing the gypsum from the interior sides of the first and second exterior panels, and a flange extending from the leg bonding the spacer to the first and second exterior panels.

Fire door

An insulated door comprising a door shell having spaced first and second exterior panels. The door includes a plurality of stiffeners bonded to a liner panel, with thermal insulation between adjacent stiffeners, disposed within the door shell. The liner panel may extend along one side of the stiffeners and the thermal insulation along the liner panel between the stiffeners and the first and second exterior panels. The stiffeners and the liner panel are preferably made of steel and the stiffeners are welded to the liner panel. The stiffeners are preferably not welded to the first and second exterior panels of the door shell. The liner panel is preferably insertable into the first or second exterior panels of the door shell. The insulation material fills substantially all of the space between the liner panel and one of the first or second exterior panels.
