A cooling fan monitoring circuit for monitoring and immediately alerting the user of the activation of a cooling fan motor and blade assembly providing notice of the shutting down of equipment requiring cooling to prevent overheating and damage to the equipment. The circuit is capable of monitoring multiple cooling fans and shuts down equipment if any one of the cooling fans ceases function, fails a preset condition, or the equipment reaches a preset temperature.

Cooling fan monitoring circuit

A control system for determining a magnitude of a voltage and controlling an application of the voltage to at least one load device of an appliance is disclosed. The control system includes a threshold-crossing circuit configured to receive a representation of the voltage and to provide an output signifying the voltage crossing a predetermined voltage threshold; and a processor which receives the output from the threshold-crossing circuit and determine the magnitude of the voltage based on the output and a line frequency based on the period of the output, determines an initial cooking profile from a group of cooking profiles based on a user selected initial setting for controlling the application of the voltage to the at least one load device, and adjusts the application of the voltage to the at least one load device based on the determined magnitude of the voltage.

Control system for an appliance

A flexible audio tone-generating device for use in a consumer appliance. The device generates pleasing musical tones. The device uses two outputs of a software-executing processor utilizing stored tone data associated with status events of the appliance to drive a tone circuit for outputting a melody using the tones to notify the user of the existence of one of the status events.

Appliance audio notification device

A communication arrangement for a household appliance device. The arrangement includes a first communication part including a transmitter for transmitting a wireless signal, and a second communication part, remotely located from the first communication part, including a receiver for receiving the wireless signal. One of the first and second communication parts is associated with the appliance device. In one aspect, the second communication part includes a processor to process the signal and nullify the effects of noise transmitted in the signal. In one aspect, the signal is an RF signal, and the second communication part includes means to over sample the signal.

Wireless appliance communication with detection and capture algorithm

A method is provided for estimating the time required to perform an operational cycle of an appliance, the cycle including at least one variable operational mode. The method includes providing a memory for storing historical data of previously executed cycles of the appliance, accessing the memory in light of a user-selected option for a present cycle, and computing an initial estimated time for performing the present cycle of the appliance based, at least in part, on a time estimate for the at least one operational mode. The method continues with determining an actual time used for performing at least one occurrence of the operational mode, relating the actual time used to the time estimate used for computing the initial estimated time for performing the present cycle of the appliance, and adjusting the initial estimated time for performing the present cycle in light of any differences between the actual and estimated times for the at least one operational mode.
