A method is set forth which minimizes a player's loss when wagering on the outcomes of a set of games. The player makes an initial wager for N outcomes of N(X&plus;Y) where X is the wager for the outcome and Y is the casino's vigorish. If the player has greater than one-half of winning outcomes W of the set, they are paid W(X&plus;Y&plus;X). Where half or less than half of the set N are winning outcomes, the player is paid one half of the original wager.

Minimum loss, maximum win wagering system

A method and system are set forth of providing for a super jackpot to be awarded should a qualifying super jackpot combination be obtained by any player playing gaming machines supplied by a supplier to a host facility. The machines are independent, each having a super jackpot combination obtainable based upon a predetermined probability. The host facilities each pay periodic contributions which go to a super jackpot fund. The contribution stream is sufficient to at least fund the super jackpot prior to having to pay it out to a player. The periodic contributions may be fixed. The super jackpot fund may progressively increase over time until the winning combination is obtained.

Method for providing a super jackpot for gaming machines

A game of chance and a gaming machine for playing the game are disclosed. The gaming machine preferably comprises a slot or video machine which has been modified to include a successive loss counter and a loss indicator, and to pay a jackpot amount if the results of a predetermined number of successive games played on the machine are losing results. In accordance with the method, a player activates the machine by placing a bet and then plays the game. If the result of the game is a predetermined losing combination, the loss indicator is illuminated. If the particular loss results cumulatively in a predetermined number of successive losing games played on the machine, the player is paid a winning jackpot amount.

Game of chance

An electronic gaming method and device in which the player is able to choose from among a variety of jackpots and associated pay-out schedules varying from low to high jackpot amounts. Best suited to video poker machines, the invention permits the player to choose between higher Royal Flush jackpots tied to lower pay-outs for lower-ranked hands, and lower Royal Flush jackpots tied to higher pay-outs for more frequently achieved lower-ranked hands. In this way, a quarter ($0.25) video poker machine may have a jackpot for a 'Royal Flush' ranging up to $25,000 (on the basis of a $1.25 bet) without the need to accumulate funds in a 'progressive' jackpot or to interconnect groups of machines. Special jackpots can also be awarded for 'Sequential,' 'Pat' or 'Pat Sequential' Royal Flushes allowing jackpots up to $1,000,000 on quarter ($0.25) video poker machines without the need for the player to choose between machines and/or locations to locate desired jackpot amounts.
