In a down-hole well arrangement, an insert pump having a pump barrel is provided, the pump barrel having a top end and a bottom end. Tubing for the down-hole well is also provided, the tubing including one or more tubing members, a seating nipple, and a tubular member having a first end attached to the seating nipple and a second end. A pump-packing device is provided, the pump-packing device having a tubular body having a bottom end attached to the second end of the tubular member and a top end attached to one of the one or more tubing members. The pump-packing device includes one or more annular spacer members, the spacer members being disposed inside the tubular body and having a first inside diameter, and one or more annular flexible elements supported inside the tubular body by the spacer members and having a second inside diameter smaller than the first inside diameter, the second inside diameter being sufficiently large to permit the pump barrel to be removably inserted through the flexible elements. The tubular body and the tubular member are of sufficient length such that, when the bottom end of the pump barrel is disposed proximate the seating nipple, the flexible elements are disposed proximate and below the top end of the pump barrel.

Pump-packing device for down-hole well arrangements

An apparatus for retrieving objects from well bores includes an uppermost segment having an internally threaded opening extending upwardly from a bottom end of the uppermost segment to a first location above the bottom end. One or more additional segments are provided. Each of the additional segments have top and bottom ends and are removably attachable, at a top end of each additional segment, to a bottom end of one of an upper one of the additional segments and the uppermost segment. Each of the additional segments have a tapered, internally threaded opening extending between the top end and the bottom end of the additional segments. A top end of the uppermost segment is secured to a bottom end of a rotatable down-hole drill rod and is lowered down around and rotated relative to an object to be retrieved such that threads on the tapered, internally threaded opening engage with the object. A method of, and apparatus for, treating a well using a tool string is disclosed. The method includes the steps of supplying a predetermined amount of treatment fluid to the well; pumping fluid from the well and holding the fluid in the tool string; and releasing the treatment fluid from the tool string into the well. In a preferred embodiment, the method includes repeating the pumping and releasing steps until the well is adequately treated.

Well treatment method and apparatus

A well clean-out tool includes a cylindrical member in which a helical conveyor screw is arranged for vertical sliding movement relative to the cylindrical member. The tool is lowered into a well bore until the shoe contacts debris within the bore. At that time, the screw is caused to descend relative to the cylindrical member, whereupon a lower end of the screw projects slightly below a lower end of the cylindrical member, and a rotary coupling between the screw and the cylindrical member is released, and a spring is caused to store energy. Thereafter, the screw is rotated relative to the cylindrical member, while the spring presses the cylindrical member against the debris in order to resist rotation of the cylindrical member. The screw projects only slightly downwardly beyond the lower end of the cylindrical member, e.g., less than one inch, in order to convey debris upwardly within the cylindrical member. At the end of a clean-out operation, the screw is raised back into the cylindrical member whereupon the rotary coupling is re-engaged in order to produce rotation of the cylindrical member as the tool is removed from the well bore.

Methods and apparatus for removing debris from a well bore

A fishing tool for retrieving broken or lost implements from a drilled hole includes a one-piece body having a bore extending from one end to the other. Oppositely positioned and inwardly directed male keys extend from the inner surface of the bore. The male keys extend along a substantial portion of the length of the bore and engage oppositely positioned portions of a catch slip. The catch slip is slidable along the length of the bore and is guided by the male keys and supported by the inner surface of the bore. The lower end of the body may be provided with a removable guide bushing and a removable guide for retaining the guide bushing in place at the lower end of the body. A front face of the catch slip may be provided with a buttress thread for firmly grasping the implement being retrieved and for permitting the grasped implement to be released while it is still in the hole through rotation of the tool.

Fishing tool for retrieving implements from a hole

The present invention relates to a well clean out tool comprising an elongated body having first and second ends and being adapted to be received within a well borehole. The elongated body is comprised of a plurality of subs including a first sub at a lower portion of the body having a one way valve for permitting only upward flow of fluid. A second sub is arranged above the first sub for receiving and retaining fluid and debris passing through the first sub while a third sub is arranged above the second sub. The third sub includes a second valve for permitting flow only upwardly through the third sub. A fourth or pumping sub is arranged above the third sub with the fourth sub including an outlet for returning fluid to the borehole. The pump sub includes an elongated hollow piston reciprocatingly driven within a casing of the fourth sub. During the upstroke of the piston, fluid and debris pass upwardly through the first second and third subs while during downward movement of the piston fluid is prevented from flowing downwardly by the valves and flows upwardly through a valve in the hollow piston toward the outlet of the tool.

Well clean out tool

A Christmas tree stand which is readily adjustable to straighten a Christmas tree. A ball member which is affixed to the base of a tree is inserted into an opened clamp held by the stand. The tree is adjusted for straightness after which the clamp is locked about the ball member. The clamp may be closed by a foot pedal while the user holds and straightens the tree.
