A method of evaluating slipperiness of a floor surface of a water pool by inducing one or more rotation scans of a pool equipment unit by driving a power pulse to one or more electric motors configured to rotate the pool equipment unit deployed on a floor surface of a water pool and at least partially submerged in water of the water pool, accumulating power values of the power pulse while its level is above a motor operation threshold, accumulating values of angular velocity of the pool equipment unit measured starting after the power pulse drops below the threshold until the pool equipment unit stops rotating; computing work energy invested to rotate the pool equipment unit based on the power values and the angular velocity values; computing a slipperiness index of the floor surface based on the work energy; and initiating one or more actions according to the slipperiness index.

A cleaning robot may be provided and may include a housing comprising at least one inlet and an outlet; a filtering unit for filtering fluid; a bypass mechanism for bypassing the filtering unit; and a fluid suction unit that is arranged to direct towards the outlet fluid that (a) passes through the at least one inlet and (b) passes through at least one out of the filtering unit and the bypass mechanism.

A cleaning robot that comprises a housing that comprises a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, a rear edge and a front edge; a filtering unit; an impeller; a pump motor that is configured to rotate the impeller; wherein the impeller is configured to induce a flow of fluid from the fluid inlet through the filtering unit and towards the fluid outlet; wherein the pump motor is substantially closer to the front edge of the housing than to the rear edge of the housing; and wherein each one of the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet is substantially closer to the rear edge of the housing than to the front edge of the housing.

A pool cleaning robot for cleaning a pool, comprising: a housing; and a drive system that is arranged to move the pool cleaning robot in relation to an environment of the pool cleaning robot; wherein the environment comprises the pool and an exterior surface; wherein the drive system comprises: a drive motor system; a group of interfacing modules; a transmission system that is arranged to couple the drive motor system to the group of interfacing modules; and an interface manipulator; wherein interfacing modules of the group are arranged to interface between the pool cleaning robot and the environment; wherein the interface manipulator is arranged to change a spatial relationship between (a) the housing and (b) a selected interfacing module of the group, during an exit process during which the pool cleaning robot exits the pool.

An external docking station may be provided and may include a filter manipulator that is arranged to (i) input a filter into a pool cleaning robot that exited a pool and is located in a filter replacement position and to (ii) assist in positioning the filter at a filtering position in which the filter is at least partially disposed within a fluid path formed between a first fluid opening and a second fluid opening of the housing thereby allowing the filter to apply a filtering operation on fluid that passes through the fluid path.

A cleaning robot that may include a control unit, a drive motor, a jet generator, a housing, a waterline proximity sensor, a filtering unit and a brushing unit. The jet generator has first and second openings that are positioned at opposite sides of the housing. The control unit is arranged to control the jet generator for jetting fluids to thereby inducing the pool cleaning robot to move according to a waterline movement scheme when the pool cleaning robot is proximate to the waterline. The waterline proximity sensor is arranged to sense proximity of the pool cleaning robot to a waterline. The drive motor and the jet generator are substantially closer to a front edge of the housing than to a rear edge of the housing.
