A snapshot restore request is received with at least one parameter defining at least one dimension for data recovery. At least one snapshot is reconstructed from a single continuous snapshot stream taken for a certain period of time based on the at least one parameter. A selected snapshot is received for data recovery selected from the at least one reconstructed snapshot. The selected snapshot is restored.

A three-axis microelectromechanical system (MEMS) gyroscope includes four proof masses, where the proof masses are connected by spring beams and/or rigid beams; a first proof mass is configured to move in an X-axis direction; a second proof mass is configured to rotate around an X-direction axis, a Y-direction axis, and a Z-direction axis, and when the first proof mass moves in the X-axis direction, the second proof mass is driven to rotate around the Z-direction axis; a third proof mass is configured to move in the X-axis direction and a Y-axis direction, and when the first proof mass moves in the X-axis direction, the third proof mass is driven to move in the Y-axis direction; a fourth proof mass is configured to move in the X-axis direction, and when the third proof mass moves in the X-axis direction, the fourth proof mass is driven to move in the X-axis direction.

Three-axis microelectromechanical system (MEMS) gyroscope

A headphone and an electronic device are provided. The headphone includes a gyroscope, which senses a bone conduction vibration and provides a quadrature error signal for reflecting the bone conduction vibration. Specifically, the headphone includes a transmission assembly that acts directly or indirectly on the gyroscope or an inertial measurement unit (IMU) including the gyroscope. The transmission assembly transmits the bone conduction vibration to the gyroscope to make the gyroscope strain, thereby causing the quadrature error signal of the gyroscope to change to detect the bone conduction vibration with sensitivity.

A computer-implemented method, according to one embodiment, is for integrating magnetic tape storage with a distributed disk file system. The computer-implemented method includes: registering for a subset of data operations that are recorded at a central location, where the central location is coupled to a plurality of distributed accessor nodes. A subset of available resources in one or more magnetic tape libraries that are coupled to the plurality of distributed accessor nodes are registered for and further managed. Moreover, a performance of the subset of data operations using the registered subset of available resources is scheduled. Supplemental data operations which correspond to the subset of data operations are also automatically received from the central location.

Embodiments of the disclosure provide a computer-implemented method for data replication from a first storage to a second storage. In the method, data replication control blocks for data blocks stored in the first storage and needed to be transmitted may be generated. The data replication control blocks may be sorted in an ascending order of probabilities of expected overwrites of the respective data blocks. The data blocks may be transmitted from the first storage to the second storage according to the sorted data replication control blocks.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a method, system and computer program product for maintaining a storage array online. According to the method, an unrecoverable error is detected by one or more processors as having occurred in a failed disk of a storage array in first storage. The failed disk is replaced with a spare disk in the first storage. Data is retrieved from a second storage for storing into a stripe of the first storage based on address information of a data block of the failed disk. The second storage stores mirrored data of data stored in the first storage. The stripe includes data blocks distributed across all disks in the storage array of the first storage. The retrieved data is caused to be written into the stripe of the storage array of the first storage. In other embodiments, a system and a computer program product are disclosed.

Maintaining storage array online

A three-axis micro electro mechanical system (MEMS) gyroscope includes a central anchor, a first subsidiary proof mass, a first decoupling structure, a second subsidiary proof mass and a third subsidiary proof mass arranged in order from the inside out. When the first subsidiary proof mass resonates in a driving mode around a third direction, the first subsidiary proof mass approximately moves along the first direction. When the first subsidiary proof mass is subjected to an angular velocity around a second direction, a Coriolis force is generated along the third direction, and the first subsidiary proof mass produces a displacement around the first direction under the effect of the Coriolis force. The axis of the first decoupling structure is also in the first direction.

Three-axis MEMS gyroscope

A method to more effectively and efficiently diagnose problems in a storage network is disclosed. In one embodiment, such a method includes generating, for a storage network, a resource map that identifies components therein. For each component in the resource map, the method identifies an importance factor that indicates the component's importance in the storage network. When a problem is detected in the storage network, the method identifies, for each component in the resource map, a potential cause factor that indicates how likely the component is to have caused the problem. The method also calculates, for each component in the resource map, a problem responsibility factor to indicate to what extent the component is held responsible for the problem. A corresponding system and computer program product are also disclosed.

Problem diagnosis in complex SAN environments

A computer-implemented method, according to one embodiment, includes: detecting an outage at a production site, and transferring I/O functionality to a first recovery site. In response to resolving the outage, first and second out-of-sync bitmaps are received from the first and second recovery sites, respectively. The out-of-sync bitmaps are merged together. Performance data which corresponds to achievable throughput is received from each of the first and second recovery sites, and the performance data is used to divide the merged out-of-sync bitmap into two portions. A request is sent to the first recovery site for data which corresponds to the first portion of the merged out-of-sync bitmap. Similarly, a request is sent to the second recovery site for data which corresponds to the second portion of the merged out-of-sync bitmap. Finally, data is received which corresponds to the first and second portions of the merged out-of-sync bitmap respectively, in parallel.

A method, system and computer program product for facilitating communication among storage controllers of a storage system. The method comprises detecting an event indicative of status change in a storage system having a plurality of storage controllers; determining that it is needed to communicate the event from a first storage controller to a second storage controller of the storage controllers; transmitting a message about the event from the first storage controller to a host in response to failure of a dedicated link between the first storage controller and the second storage controller; and forwarding the message from the host to the second storage controller.

Facilitating communication among storage controllers

Methods that copy data from mirrored storage to auxiliary storage arrays co-located with primary storage arrays are provided. One method includes requesting a subset of the data from a backup system mirroring the set of data at a remote location in response to detecting an error in a storage device of an array of primary storage devices storing a set of data. The method further includes receiving the subset of the data from the backup system and storing the subset of the data in an array of auxiliary storage devices co-located with the array of primary storage devices in which the subset of the data can correspond to data stored on the storage device. Systems and computer program products for performing the above method are also provided.

Copying data from mirrored storage to auxiliary storage arrays co-located with primary storage arrays

Disclosed is a computer-implemented method to increase the speed of extent migration. The method comprises determining a plurality of extents to migrate. The extents are stored in a source tier and the source tier is one tier of a tiered storage system. The method also comprises forming a first queue, wherein the first queue contains the plurality of extents to be migrated. The method further includes selecting a first extent to copy to a target tier. The copying comprises dividing the extent into a plurality of strides, forming a second queue containing the strides, selecting and copying the first stride, and removing the first stride from the second queue. The method further comprises changing a mapping table to point to the target tier, removing the first extent from the first queue, and releasing the first area of the first tier.
