A first client station receives a multi-user physical layer (PHY) data unit from an access point. The multi-user PHY data unit includes i) a PHY preamble, and ii) a multi-user multiple input, multiple output (MU-MIMO) transmission. The PHY preamble includes a subfield that indicates respective numbers of spatial streams allocated to respective client stations among a plurality of client station that includes the first client station. The subfield has been encoded according to an encoding that supports allocating up to sixteen spatial streams to up to eight intended receivers, and the subfield consists of six or fewer bits. The first client station decodes the subfield to determine a number of spatial streams allocated to the first client station and processes the determined number of spatial streams in the MU-MIMO transmission.

A method for allocating a plurality of resource units among a plurality of client stations in a wireless local area network is disclosed herein. An access point (AP) estimates a channel quality indicator for each of the respective channels between the AP and the plurality of client stations, obtains queue information corresponding to each of the plurality of client stations, and computes a utility function for each of the plurality of client stations based on the channel quality indicator and the obtained queue information. The AP then allocates each resource unit to a client station of the plurality of client stations having a highest value output by the respective utility function.

A switching mechanism can be used to delete the reporter from the chromosome by providing an appropriate DNA recombinase, which turns the selected cells into production cells that secrete the protein of interest without co-expression of the reporter.

A method for identifying active resource units in a high-efficiency wireless system includes quantizing phase angles of samples received in a high-efficiency short training field of a transmission, performing a transform operation on quantized phase angle samples to derive transmitted power, comparing transmitted power of an individual resource unit as determined from transformed quantized phase angle samples to transmitted power of other resource units as determined from transformed quantized phase angle samples, and identifying, as active, resource units whose transmitted power, as determined from transformed quantized phase angle samples, bears a first predetermined relationship to transmitted power of the other resource units. Transmitted power of a resource unit may be compared to the total transmitted power of all resource units, or to the transmitted power of one of the other resource units whose transmitted power is a maximum transmitted power of all resource units.
