A method of operating a wind park having a plurality of wind turbines is provided. The method includes determining a grid condition indicator indicative of the condition of a grid into which the wind park feeds; determining a first maximum power value of the wind park on the basis of the grid condition indicator; determining an operating margin on the basis of the grid condition indicator, for a grid condition indicator indicative of a weak grid; determining a second maximum power value on the basis of the operating margin; and curtailing the active power output of the wind park according to a maximum power value. A computer program product for carrying out the steps of such a method; an active power controller adapted for use in operating a wind turbine of a wind park; a wind turbine; and a wind park are also provided.

Method of operating a wind park

A wind turbine is provided having a first converter connected between an electric generator of the wind turbine and a DC link and a second converter connected between the DC link and an output of the wind turbine connectable to a utility grid. The wind turbine further includes a wind turbine controller adapted to control at least one of an output current of the wind turbine, an output voltage of the wind turbine, a reactive output power of the wind turbine, an output voltage of the DC link and an output current of the DC link. The wind turbine further includes a communication device adapted to receive a control signal and to set a control parameter of the wind turbine controller in accordance with the control signal. A network converter, method of operating a wind turbine, methods of operating a wind park and computer-readable storage medium are also provided.

A method for controlling a wind turbine is proposed. The wind turbine is in a wind farm and connected to a point of common coupling that is connected to a utility grid. At least one quantity indicative of a short circuit ratio of the utility grid is measured. A control parameter of a control system controlling the wind turbine and the wind farm is adjusted. based on the measured value of the quantity.

A control system for a wind park includes a plurality of limit controllers. Each limit controller is configured to output a limit value set based upon a specific grid code requirement. A selection unit compiles a limit value set from the plurality of limit value sets according to a number of grid code requirements. The control system further includes a plurality of main controllers, wherein a main controller is configured to generate a setpoint for one or more wind turbines of the wind park according to the compiled limit value set. A method of operating a converter of a wind turbine for providing electric energy to a utility grid includes determining a grid voltage. If the grid voltage is between a nominal voltage and a first voltage threshold, i.e. higher than the nominal voltage, a normal procedure for lowering the grid voltage is performed. If the grid voltage is above the first voltage threshold, another procedure for keeping the wind turbine connected is performed, wherein the other procedure is different from the normal procedure. Further a corresponding arrangement is described.

Method and arrangement for operating a wind turbine converter

A method for controlling a wind turbine is provided. The method includes monitoring an electrical quantity at an output terminal of the wind turbine. The electric quantity has an amplitude and periodically varying with a grid frequency. The method further includes detecting an oscillation of the amplitude and decreasing active power output from the wind turbine at the output terminal depending on the detected oscillation.
