A hygiene tissue includes a composition including one or more lactic acid producing bacterial strains and a lipid phase including at least one lipid, wherein the lipid is selected from the group having olive oil, canola oil, coconut oil, palm kernel oil, peanut oil, soy bean oil, Dimethicone, paraffin oil, and petrolatum; and a matrix impregnated by the composition.

An absorbent article such as a diaper, pant diaper, adult incontinence guard, sanitary napkin and the like contains a skin conditioning agent in at least a portion of the article so as to be transferable to the skin of the wearer. The skin conditioning agent is contained in a hydrogel foam material () intended to be applied in skin contact with the wearer, either directly or indirectly via a liquid permeable material ().

A hygiene tissue is used for both cleaning and transferring lactic acid producing bacteria to the skin and urogenital area. The hygiene tissue contains, on separate parts of the tissue, cleaning liquid and a bacterial composition. Bacterial viability and transfer ability is maintained by suspending the bacteria in a lipid which protects the bacteria from moisture. The lipid also enhances transfer of the bacteria from the tissue to the skin or urogenital area. Different designs of the hygiene tissue prevent the mixing of the cleaning liquid and the bacterial composition.

A method for applying lotion to a surface of an absorbent article. The method includes the steps of: placing the surface of the absorbent article in the proximity of a spraying apparatus having a spray head with an orifice; pushing the lotion through the spray head orifice; and propelling the lotion to the surface as a continuous fiberised string. An absorbent article that includes an essentially liquid-impermeable top sheet above an absorbent body enclosed between an upper liquid-permeable sheet and a liquid-impermeable sheet, the top sheet being provided with elastic for shaping the article to the wearer's body and incorporating apertures intended to register with the anus and the urethra orifice of the wearer in use, around which apertures elastically puckered sealing edges are disposed, at least one sealing edge being coated with the sealing medium.

The invention relates to an absorbent article that includes a synergistic combination of a) a pH-regulating substance in the form of a partially neutralized superabsorbent material, and b) lactic acid bacteria wherein after being wetted and worn close to the skin, the article has a pH value in the range of 3.5-5.5, preferably within the range of 3.5-4.9, and most preferably within the range of 4.1-4.7.

Absorbent articles

Absorbent articles such as diapers, incontinence protectors, sanitary napkins, wound dressings and similar articles which are applied in contact with skin, and methods which make it possible to use an article for an extended period of time without the appearance of unwanted side-effects such as, for instance, growth of undesirable microorganisms. The absorbent body in the absorbent article comprises a pH-controlling substance in the form of a partially neutralized super-absorbent material in such a manner that the pH in the absorbent article after wetting is in the interval 3.5-4.9. Growth of undesirable strains of microorganisms is prevented and unwanted side-effects resulting from use of the article are reduced.

Reduction of unwanted side-effects during use of absorbent articles by means of PH-control

The invention relates to absorbent articles, such as diapers and like articles and is concerned with methods for preventing undesirable odors and/or preventing the growth of undesirable microorganisms when the articles are in use, and also provides an absorbent article which can be worn for long periods of time without generating undesirable odors, incurring the risk of infection or having a negative effect on skin. Another object is to amplify the presence in the wearer's urogenital zone of microbiological flora that will assist in preventing the occurrence of urinal tract infections. These objects have been achieved by adding to the absorbent articles microorganisms which exhibit antagonistic properties against present undesirable strains of microorganisms, so as to restrain the growth of these or establishing of new undesirable species.

Inhibiting the growth of bacteria in absorbent articles by adding other bacteria

A male incontinence guard includes an inner, liquid permeable casing layer; an outer, liquid impermeable casing layer; an absorbent pad having a first end and enclosed between said layers so as to include a first side edge on one side of said pad and a second side edge on an opposite side of said pad; said absorbent pad narrows at the first end; a first elastic device attached in a prestretched state to the inner casing layer and extends from the first end along at least a part of said first side edge; and a second elastic device attached in a prestretched state to the inner casing layer and extends from the first end along at least a part of said second side edge; said elastic devices arranged such that contraction of said elastic devices causes said inner casing layer at the first end of said pad to take a concave shape and said outer casing layer at said first end of said pad to take a convex shape. The absorbent pad is narrower than said inner and outer casing layers so that said absorbent pad does not extend into said side edges, and said elastic devices are attached between said inner and outer casing layers. The absorbent pad is substantially triangular in shape.

A disposable absorbent article, such as a diaper or an incontinence guard, includes an inner liquid-permeable casing sheet which is positioned nearest the body of the wearer when the article is worn, an outer liquid-permeable casing sheet, and an absorbent pad enclosed between the inner and outer casing sheets. The absorbent pad includes, at least in the crotch part of the article, a hose-like body that is comprised of a shape-stable material having a very high liquid permeability. The hose-like body is generally centrally positioned in the article and extends in the longitudinal direction of the article. The hose-like body borders on the inner casing sheet and is surrounded by absorbent material on at least the side thereof remote from the inner casing sheet. The article can also include liquid barriers positioned on respective sides of the hose-like body.

Disposable absorbent article which comprises a hose-like absorption body

The present invention relates to a disposable absorbent article, such as a diaper or an incontinence guard, which includes an inner liquid-permeable casing sheet (1), which lies the closest to the wearer's body when the article is in use, an outer liquid-impermeable casing sheet (2), and an absorbent body (3) which is enclosed between the two casing sheets. According to the invention, the absorbent pad (3) includes, at least in the region thereof which forms the crotch part when the article is worn, a hose-like body (5) which is made of a shape-stable material and which is highly permeable to liquid. The hose-like body is positioned centrally and extends in the longitudinal direction of the article and borders on the inner casing layer and is surrounded by absorbent material (4, 6) at least on the side thereof remote from the inner casing sheet.

An incontinence protector for men including an absorbent layer of substantially rectangular shape which is folded together, and a liquid impermeable casing enclosing the two planar outsides of the absorbent layer, the folding edge and an edge situated close thereto, as well as a method of manufacturing such an incontinence protector.
