An electromechanical actuator () is provided. The actuator comprises an electrical motor () controlling a ball ramp mechanism. The ball ramp mechanism is configured to allow for mutual rotation of a first and second rotational member () up to a first torque of the electrical motor (), and to allow for axial separation of the first and second rotational members () at a second torque of the electrical motor ().

Electromechanical actuator

A rear axle drive () for an AWD vehicle is presented. The rear axle drive () is connected to an hydraulic AWD coupling (), wherein the rear axle drive () comprises a lubrication valve () for controlling the level of lubricant in at least one lubricant reservoir () of the rear axle drive () for providing lubricant to gears and/or bearings of the rear axle drive (). The lubrication valve () is functionally connected to a shut-off valve () of the AWD coupling () and the lubrication valve () of the rear axle drive () is controlled by movement of an actuating member () of the AWD coupling ().

Controlling lubrication in a stand-alone rear axle drive

A hydraulic system including a hydraulically actuated clutch, a hydraulically actuated shifting piston, and a pressure source for actuating the clutch as well as the shifting piston. The movement of the shifting piston also controls a valve function which serves to open a connection from the pressure source to the clutch only when the shifting piston has reached one of its end positions.

Method for operating a hydraulic disc coupling in an AWD vehicle and a coupling therefore

A pump coupling or hydraulic actuator controlling one or more limited slip couplings of a distribution system for distribution torque between front and rear axles in all wheel drive vehicles and/or distribution of torque between left and right wheels in two or four wheel drive vehicles. The hydraulic actuator includes an electric motor, a hydraulic pump, driven by a drive shaft of the electric motor, and the one or more limited slip couplings. Each limited slip coupling includes a disc package and a piston acting on the disc package, which piston is actuated by a hydraulic pump. A centrifugal regulator is connected to a rotating part of the electric motor or the hydraulic pump, which centrifugal regulator controls a pressure overflow valve, connected to the oil outlet of the hydraulic pump. The pressure is controlled by current to the electric motor or by control of the motor speed.

Device for transmitting torque between two rotatable shafts

A device for transmitting torque between two rotatable, coaxial shaft members (1, 2) in a stationary housing (4) has a clutch (11, 12) engageable to counteract differential rotational speed between the shaft members. A hydraulic clutch piston (14) is arranged to engage the clutch, and a hydraulic pump arrangement (1', 18-21, 11', 14-17), driven by the speed differential between the two shaft members, creates a hydraulic pressure on the clutch piston. The hydraulic pump arrangement includes a supply piston (18) and the clutch piston. Rollers (17, 21) are rotatable with one of the shaft members (2) and engage the other of the shaft members (1) via cams (1', 11'), which are angularly offset in relation to each other, so as to impart to the pistons a reciprocating movement at the differential rotational speed between the shaft members. A hydraulic line system (25, 27, 29, 31) connects a cylinder (23) at the supply piston on one hand with the tank (24) via a check valve (26) and on the other hand--via a line (27) with a check valve (28)--with an outlet line (31) and connects a cylinder (30) at the clutch piston (14) with the outlet line.

A device for transmitting torque between two rotatable shaft members (2, 3) in a stationary housing (1) contains a number of alternate clutch discs (10, 11) engageable to counteract differential rotational speed between the two shaft members, to which they are connected, a hydraulic clutch piston (12) to engage the clutch discs and a hydraulic pump arrangement (13-22) driven by the speed differential between the two shaft members. An externally controllable pressure-reducing valve (25-27) is provided in the hydraulic connection from the clutch piston to the low pressure side of the pump arrangement, whose high pressure side is connected to the clutch piston.

A retarding valve at a single-tower air drier for obtaining a controlled time for the flow of regenerating air from an air tank to a desiccant cartridge has a movable valve stem (7), which is provided with a piston (14) having a slightly smaller diameter than a chamber (13), in which it is movable in hydraulic oil (15), so that a narrow circumferential slit for the oil is formed. The valve stem with its piston is biased by a spring (16) from a position--at the beginning of each regenerating cycle--permitting flow through the valve to a position closing off flow through the valve.

Retarding valve at a single-tower air drier

A rail vehicle disc brake caliper has a base frame (1) with a pivotally attached brake lever (3). Brake pads are provided on these parts in the vicinity of a disc to be braked. A brake cylinder (16) for acting on the brake lever is attached to the base frame. In order to obtain a space saving, simple and sturdy design with a required internal leverage and with a slack adjusting function a slack adjuster (15) of the rotary, lever type is arranged with its rotary part on a shaft (14) pivotally arranged in the base frame and its free arm connected to the piston rod (16') of the brake cylinder (16). This shaft is provided with a cam (17), preferably connected to the brake lever (3) by way of connecting links (18).
