A multi-story goods storage arrangement comprising a plurality of levels of storage lines arranged in parallel and transport lines extending between opposing ends of said storage lines, wherein a transfer cart is operable along each transport line. It further comprises a top shuttle suspending from top rail arrangement on said transfer cart and moveable out from said transfer cart into a suspension rail arrangement in said storage lines, and lifting means arranged on said top shuttle to lift goods stored in said storage lines and to transport lifted goods to the transfer cart.

In a method for automated colour mixing in a customer-operated and enclosed arrangement, a container with colour base component can be inserted and shaken, the tin with the shaken colour base component is provided with a hole, one or more doses of colour pigment are added via the hole, the hole is closed and shaking is then carried out again. Devices for carrying out the said functions are controlled by microcomputer equipment that is arranged to work interactively with the customer. The making of the hole is carried out using a knife edge or injection device that penetrates the material of the container. The dosing of the colour pigments is carried out by means of a pump and valve arrangement in which one or more valves are opened and closed or by means of a pressure or piston arrangement. The dosing is initiated in the open state of the valve or by activation of the pressure or piston device. The invention also relates to an arrangement and has the advantages provided by optimal hole-making and dosing functions.

In an arrangement for the linear measurement and magazine storage of thread ( ) ahead of the pick in looms or textile machines ( ) use is made of thread feed elements ( ) and thread length-measuring elements ( ) together with magazines ( ) designed to store a predetermined length of thread ahead of the pick in the machine. Elements ( &prime;) reversing parts of the thread are designed to bring about interaction with thread parts between the thread support elements. The reversing elements are designed, during said interaction, to displace thread parts in directions that deviate from the feed direction into the magazine or magazines to a position or positions therein. The reversing elements are designed, after the introduction of read parts into the magazines, to return to their starting positions or home positions. The magazines are designed with devices, which retain parts of the thread in said positions. In this way an effective magazine storage and linear measurement function is obtained, especially for flat thread, which is prevented from twisting or tangling during said functions.

A brake arrangement is intended for or can be assigned. to a number of threads or yarns which can be fed in or to a textile machine, for example a weaving machine. The brake arrangement comprises two units ( ) which have thread or yarn parts ( ) lying between them and which are pressed towards each other by actuating members ( and , respectively), which units ( ) cooperate with the thread or yarn parts via two opposite surfaces ( and , respectively) which are made of smooth material and are set substantially parallel by the cooperation with the thread or yarn parts. A regulator works with a thread or yarn supply which is intended to provide a draw-out length of the thread or the yarn which is dependent on the one hand on the size of the supply and on the other hand on an assumed or adjusted thread tension in the draw-out thread or the draw-out yarn. A load cell is arranged so as to sense the actual thread tension in the drawn-out thread and to, supply to the regulator information for changing the size of the thread stock when the actual thread tension deviates from the assumed or previously adjusted thread tension (the desired value). The load cell can also function as a pick monitor.

In a weaving machine, the shuttles of the weaving machine are transferred over and across the warp threads of the machine. The method and apparatus have the object of preventing factors which adversely affect the weave result from occurring at high shuttle speeds. One or more air or gas streams (flows) are conveyed from the undersides of the warp threads and upwardly via the warp threads to their upper sides. With the upwardly conveyed air or gas stream, each shuttle is given a lifting movement which prevents burn damages, deformations and wearing of the warp threads due to a high shuttle speed.

Shooting and guide members for a shuttle are arranged in a weaving machine. The shooting member comprises an air pressure source which supplies compressed air to one or more acceleration nozzles. The acceleration nozzle or nozzles are arranged to accommodate the shuttle at the time of shooting and, depending on the compressed-air supply, generating one or more air jets. The shuttle is made with surfaces which can be exposed to the air jets. The nozzle and guide members are arranged so as to guide the shuttle at least at the beginning of its shooting trajectory, when the air jet of the acceleration nozzle are brought into effect.

A weaving machine arrangement includes a heald frame weaving machine and, arranged on both sides of the latter, two sets of accessory equipment. The warp thread set of the heald frame weaving machine is divided into a first set and second and third warp thread sets. The second and third warp thread sets are used in order to form extended turning-fold areas in the tubular-woven material. The accessory equipment forms patterns for the terminating positions of the weft threads in these areas, strong seaming functions are obtained in the tubular-woven material. Cut-off thread ends are anchored by heat action. The degree of automation is increased in relation to conventional manufacturing by virtue of the fact that the seaming function can be carried out in the heald frame weaving machine itself.

A weaving machine arrangement incorporates a shaft frame machine and, arranged on both sides thereof, two Jacquard machines. The weaving machine arrangement is coordinated, and first warp threads for the woven material are obtained from the shaft frame weaving machine and second warp threads from the Jacquard machines. The second warp threads are used to form spread-out turnover fold areas in the tubular material. The Jacquard machines form patterns for the closing locations of the weft threads in the turnover fold areas. By using spread-out turnover fold areas and spreading the closing locations of the weft threads in these areas, high-strength piecing functions are obtained in the tubular weave.

A weaving machine comprises an arrangement for adjusting or optimizing the consumption of warp thread. The weaving machine permits weaving of different widths for the woven material. First bobbins can be arranged next to one another, with synchronized rotation, on a warp beam (Vb) of the weaving machine in order to effect a warp thread supply which represents a minimum width for the woven material. Second bobbins can be arranged, individually from the point of view of rotation, in bobbin boards in order to effect a warp thread supply which represents widths between the minimum width and a maximum width for the woven material. The second bobbins are provided with, or can cooperate with, activatable and deactivatable brake members by which the number of second bobbins (2') corresponding to the set weaving width can be engaged for warp thread supply in the weaving machine.

Warp thread consumption optimization apparatus for a weaving machine

A weaving machine arrangement incorporates a shaft frame machine and, arranged on both sides thereof, two Jacquard machines. The weaving machine arrangement is coordinated/controllable and first warp threads for the woven material are obtained from the shaft frame weaving machine and second warp threads are obtained from the Jacquard machines. A tubular material is formed from top and bottom plies which are connected by turnover fold areas. The second warp threads are used to form the spread-out turnover fold areas in the tubular material. The Jacquard machines are controlled to form patterns for closing locations of the weft threads in the turnover fold areas. By using spread-out turnover fold areas and spreading the closing locations of the weft threads in these areas, high-strength piecing functions are obtained in the tubular weave. Also, the level of automation is increased in relation to conventional production.

A method of warp thread drawing-in for warp thread machines having at least one warp thread magazine, heald frame, and reed comprises the steps of placing the warp thread magazine, heald frame and reed from the warp thread machine on a warp thread charging device which is separate from the warp thread machine; passing warp thread groups, comprised of one or more warp threads, in stages through a respective heddle of a heald frame; assigning each of the warp thread groups a space in the reed; drawing each of the warp thread groups through its respective space with an automatic reeding device, the automatic reeding device being movable along a width of the reed as the drawing step is carried out; transferring the warp thread magazine, heald frame and reed from the warp thread charging device to the warp thread machine and returning the warp thread magazine, heald frame and reed to their operational positions in the warp thread machine. A warp thread charging apparatus is also disclosed.
