An RF tag includes a resonant circuit structure and an RF device. The resonant circuit structure includes: a first conducting layer; a second conducting layer spaced apart from the first conducting layer; at least one conducting base portion connecting one end of the first conducting layer and one end of the second conducting layer; and a layer of dielectric material inserted between the first conducting layer and the second conducting layer. Impedance of the resonant circuit structure is in match with impedance of the RF device. A slit is formed on the first conducting layer. The RF device is electrically coupled to the first conducting layer and disposed over the slit.

RF tag with resonant circuit structure

An electric appliance has first and second rotational output spindles located within a housing. The first and second spindles have respective first and second couplings for attachment of first and second work tools to the first and second spindles, respectively. The second rotational output spindle is concentric with the first rotational output spindle such that connection of one of the first and second work tools to the corresponding spindle excludes connection of the other of the first and second work tools to the corresponding spindle. The first rotational output spindle has a first rotational speed that is different from a second rotational speed of the second output spindle.

Electric appliance with dual speed output

A handheld electric mixer has a rotational output spindle for holding mixer work pieces, first and second gears located on the rotational output spindle, and a motor. The first gear is rotationally coupled to the motor output shaft. The mixer includes a two-speed gear-box receiving torque from the motor, and transmitting the torque to the output spindle. The two-speed gear-box includes a rotational lay shaft axially parallel to the rotational output spindle, third and fourth gears located on the lay shaft, the third gear meshing with the first gear and the fourth gear meshing with the second gear. A selector mechanism selects between a first gear ratio and a second gear ratio and includes a clutch disk on the spindle, and moveable axially for alternatively engaging and rotatably locking the one of the third or fourth gears that is engaged with the clutch disk.

A RF tag includes a resonant circuit structure and a RF device. The resonant circuit structure includes a first conducting layer; a second conducting layer spaced apart from the first conducting layer; and two conducting base portions respectively connecting two ends of the first conducting layers and two ends of the second conducting layers. A slit is formed on the first conducting layer and the RF device is electrically coupled to the first conducting layer and disposed over the slit.

Resonant circuit structure and RF tag having same

The present invention relates to an RFID Tag and Antenna for use with an RFID tag and a method of radio frequency identification (RFID). The RFID Tag comprises a RFID chipfor storing data, an antennaand an electromagnetic band gap substrate. The RFID chipand the antennaare mounted above the electromagnetic band gap substrate. The electromagnetic band gap substrate has a reflection phase which is different from 180&#xb0; at the operation frequency of the antenna. The electromagnetic band gap substrate enables the RFID to operate even if it is mounted on a conductive object, as the reflection phase is not 180&#xb0; so it does not destructively interfere with the radiation from the antenna at the operating frequency. Preferably the reflection phase is between 340&#xb0; and 115&#xb0; or &#x2212;95&#xb0; and 145&#xb0;. The preferred embodiment uses a band gap substrate having two mushroom-like conductive layerswith a dielectric in between.
