A washing appliance for efficient and through cleaning of medical devices and methods of using the appliance are disclosed. The appliance can clean exteriors of medical devices, and lumens of devices comprising a lumen such as cathlab devices.

Method and systems for determining acceptance criteria for identification of occluding particles in a lumen of a device are provided. The methods and systems can be used in methods of identifying an occluded device in an inspection method. The acceptance criteria can be calculated based on mass flow measurements of an occluded representative device.

The method can include removing a coating from a single-use medical device, validating the removal of the coating, cleaning the single-use medical device, and applying a new coating to the single-use medical device.
