A fluid level sensor has a sensing element mounted to the end of a member that requires a predetermined orientation for accurate fluid level detection. A knob on the housing of the sensor operatively connected to the member includes an orientation indicator. The member includes a thread that extends a distance along the member that corresponds to a thickness of the wall into which the member of the fluid level sensor is inserted. A portion of the thread extends beyond the wall to enable bidirectional rotation of the knob to position the element for accurate fluid level detection while a portion of the thread remains within an opening in the wall to enable pressure to be applied to an O-ring seal mounted about the member to prevent leakage from the bore.

A device includes a first connector arranged to connect to an ink supply, a second connector arranged to connect to a print head, a first chamber arranged between the first and second connectors, the first chamber forming an ink path from the first connector to the second connector, a second chamber arranged adjacent to the first chamber, and a compliant wall between the first and second chambers. A system includes a print head, an ink tank connected to the print head, and a compliant wall device connected between the print head and the ink tank, the compliant wall device having a first chamber forming an ink path between the print head and the ink tank and a second chamber, the first and second chamber separated by a compliant wall.

A fluid sensor has a first electrode, a second electrode, a housing containing the first and second electrodes, such that the electrodes extend from the housing, exposed metal between the first and second electrodes, and a drive signal electrically connected to the second electrode, such that when fluid is present in the reservoir, either the first electrode senses the presence of the fluid, or the drive signal senses presence of the fluid. A fluid sensor has a first electrode, a second electrode, a housing containing the first and second electrodes, a drive signal electrically connected to the second electrode, and sensing circuitry to measure a current from the second electrode to indicate a fluid level.

A printhead including a printhead body and a filter assembly that is removably attached to the printhead body with one or more mechanical fasteners. The filter assembly can include at least a first plate, a second plate, and a filter interposed between the first plate and the second plate. The removable filter assembly can be used to filter a single fluid, such as a liquid ink or a gas, or two or more fluids, using one or more filters. The filter assembly can be removed from the printhead body and replaced with a new or different filter assembly.
