A handle assembly for a cooking utensil that secures and holds a lid on the utensil so that any liquid contents of the utensil may be easily, safely, and expeditiously poured from the utensil. The handle assembly comprises a handle body and a lever. The handle body is attached to the utensil at one end and has an opposite outer end that may be grasped by a user. The lever, which has a grip end and a clamp end, is rotatably or pivotably secured in an opening in the handle body. When the outer end of the handle body and the grip end of the lever are simultaneously grasped, the clamp end of the lever comes into contact with the lid of the utensil and holds the lid on the utensil while the contents of the utensil are poured out of the utensil through a spout formed in an upper edge of the utensil. When the lever of the handle assembly is not in use, the grip end of the lever is spaced apart from the outer end of the handle body, and the clamp end of the lever is spaced apart from both the upper edge of the utensil and any lid that may be on the utensil. In this orientation, the outer ends of the handle body may be used to lift or move the utensil.

A pressure cooker handle assembly that relieves pressure in the cooker and unlocks the lid by pushing a single button twice. The button includes a tab that directly activates a pressure relief valve to release the pressure and a leg that depresses a stopbar to unlock the lid. Pressing of the button a first time releases the pressure in the cooker, but does not unlock the lid. A latch system prevents the cooker from again building pressure once the button is pressed. When the button is pressed a second time the leg depresses the stopbar to unlock the lid from the cooker.

A detachable power supply apparatus for use with electrical appliances including removable temperature control devices includes a mounting panel on the temperature control device to which an electrical connector on a power supply cord is magnetically and electrically coupled. The mounting panel includes a ferrous contact plate attached to an outer surface thereof between a pair of conductive pins. The power supply cord includes a female electrical receptacle with a magnet subassembly attached at or near an outer surface thereof. The receptacle may be removably coupled to the mounting panel by positioning the receptacle outer surface adjacent the mounting panel contact plate. The magnet subassembly is designed to allow the receptacle to withstand a preselected tensile or pulling force and a preselected shearing or lateral force.

Pressure cooker

A low pressure cooker is disclosed having a pan and a pressurizable lid. Latch handles that pivot about a generally vertical axis are provided for latching the pressurizable lid in position relative to the pan. The cooker may also include a non-pressurizable lid that cannot be latched in position using the latch handles.

A submersible light includes a back cover which mounts the light. A lens assembly is mounted on the back cover and forms a downwardly-open enclosure therewith. A light assembly, which includes an illumination subassembly, is received in the enclosure. The light assembly includes a housing which engages a sealing gasket within the enclosure for sealing the light assembly against water infiltration. A second barrier against water infiltration is provided by the bell jar effect of the back cover of the lens assembly, which collectively form a downwardly-open enclosure for receiving the light assembly.

Submersible light

A room humidifying assembly (20) is provided which is easily and quickly installed, is simple to operate, and is a cost effective means for maintaining a comfortable humidity level in a room. The room humidifying assembly (20) preferably includes a body (22), adapted for positioning within a ventilation duct (24) adjacent a duct outlet (26), and a wick (32) having a first section (34) and a second section (36). The body (22) includes a reservoir (28) adapted to hold a supply of water, and the second section (36) of the wick (32) is disposed within the reservoir (28) in contact with the water therein. The first section (34) of the wick (32) is supported across at least a portion of the duct (24) by an apertured frame (30) secured to the body (22) to permit the passage of ventilating air through the first section (34). The wick (32) is configured for delivery of water from the second section (36) to the first section (34) by capillary attraction. The first section (34) of the wick (32) is foramenous to allow passage of air therethrough. Additionally, the assembly (20) includes an apertured grille structure (76) mounted adjacent the duct outlet (26) which provides a damper (84) for regulating the amount of air passing therethrough.

A bonnet style hair dryer includes integral left and right speakers. Each of the speakers is positioned proximate a respective ear of the user when the bonnet is placed over the user's head. A stereo audio cable is connected to the speakers with the opposite end connected to a stereo audio jack positioned within the bonnet. The speakers can thus be connected, via a removable external audio cable, to any suitable audio source so that a user can receive audio entertainment or information while her or his hair is being dried. The external audio cable may have an in-line stereophonic audio amplifier incorporated therein. The speakers have speaker cones which are heat formed from a polyester film to increase the efficiency of the speakers. The speaker cones may also have radial or tangential ribs formed therein. A one-piece folding speaker holder provides for toolless mounting of the speakers within the hair dryer bonnet.

A bonnet style hair dryer includes integral left and right speakers. Both rigid bonnet and soft bonnet embodiments are described. In either embodiment, each of the speakers is positioned proximate a respective ear of the user when the bonnet is placed over the user's head. Air deflectors prevent heated air form being directed onto the speakers. A stereo audio cable is connected to the speakers with the opposite end connected to a stereo audio jack positioned within the bonnet. The speakers can thus be connected, via a removable external audio cable, to any suitable audio source, including radio, television audio, stereo music source, etc. so that a user can receive audio entertainment or information while her or his hair is being dried. At the same time, should the user not desire to listen to audio programming, the external cable can be easily removed and the entire stereo audio system becomes virtually invisible from the exterior of the hair dryer.
