Systems and methods relating to monitoring cargo are provided. Various embodiments provide features relating to: (1) monitoring characteristics of cargo using a single device that may be disposable; (2) generating alerts based on a variety of temperature conditions, such as multiple temperature thresholds; (3) providing multiple levels of alerts and escalating alerts to different users; (4) providing an indication of an end of trip based on location data and data from sensor(s); (5) reducing power of transmissions between devices; (6) using frequency diversity features to communicate between devices; (7) providing configurable reporting and/or sensor monitoring parameters, and changing reporting and/or sensor measurement periods; (8) allowing for communication with devices across multiple frequency bands; (9) utilizing secondary communication circuits to communicate with different devices, such as across different frequency channels and/or bands; and (10) using a movement detection device (e.g., an accelerometer) to reduce false indications of movement.

Systems and methods for monitoring transported cargo

An environment monitoring method including measuring data from a plurality of sensors, wherein each of the plurality of sensors includes a unique identifier (UID). The method further includes instructing each of the plurality of sensors to measure data. The method also includes receiving the measured data from each of the plurality of sensors. The method then calculates a product degradation value of a product based on the measured data and compares the product degradation value with a threshold product degradation value. In response to the product degradation value of the product exceeding the threshold produce degradation value, the method generates and sends an alert to a device.

Systems and methods for environmental monitoring of supply chains

A mobile monitoring device includes a communication module including transmitter functionality to transmit data and receiver functionality to receive data and a data extraction module that is configured to extract a cell tower identification from the received data. The mobile monitoring device also includes a communication state determination module that is configured to de-activate the transmitter functionality when the cell tower identification matches an airport identification.

System and method for selectively de-activating a transmitter mode of a cargo monitoring device

Systems and methods are provided and include a processor that is configured to execute instructions stored in a nontransitory memory. The instructions include receiving at least one measurement event signal, which includes (i) acceleration data that represents an amount of vibration associated with goods at a corresponding time, (ii) location data that represents a location of the goods at the corresponding time, and (iii) an alarm value that is based on a comparison of the acceleration data and a threshold. The instructions include transmitting an alert to a remote device. The alert is (i) transmitted in response to the alarm value of one of the at least one measurement event signal indicating that the goods were subjected to an excessive amount of vibration, and (ii) instructs a user of the excessive amount of vibration. The remote device is configured to display a message based on the alert.

Systems and methods for monitoring vibrations during transportation of goods

A method for estimating a level of damage to perishable cargo during transportation of the cargo using data collected by a portable monitoring device. The method includes measuring vibrational data associated with the cargo. The vibrational data is monitored by a vibration sensor of the portable monitoring device. The method further includes incrementing a counter in the portable monitoring device in response to an amplitude of the measured vibrational data exceeding a predetermined threshold. The method also includes determining if the counter value exceeds a predetermined value, and generating an alert indicating damage to the cargo in response to determining the counter value has exceeded the predetermined value.
