An omni direction antenna comprising a substrate having a first side and a second side with a first conductor coupled to the first side of the substrate and a second conductor coupled to the second side of the substrate is provided. The first and second conductors comprise wide elements substantially aligned over narrow elements. The antenna further has a terminating element shorting the first and second conductors. A feed element is coupled to the first side wide element, the feed element comprising at least one transmission line, at least one impedance matching element, and at least one ground plane substantially aligned with the at least one transmission line.

Antenna arrays and methods of making the same

Apparatus and methods for supplying a portion of a fluid stream and, alternately, a fluid of known composition and concentration to an analyzer are provided. The fluid stream is directed through a series of connected chambers formed in an integral housing. A sampling needle has an inlet in one of the chambers and an outlet in fluid communication with the analyzer. When desired, a tube or vial containing a known fluid may be inserted into a chamber containing the sampling needle, so that the known fluid will be supplied to the analyzer. A second needle provides ventilation to the vial to prevent the formation of a vacuum as the known fluid is drained from the vial.

To attain the advantages of and in accordance with the purpose of the present invention, a connector for an antenna is provided. The connector comprises a nut, insulator, contact pin, sleeve, and a captive housing. The connector is such that the housing can be positioned and angled relatively to a radio frequency device as desired and then locked in place by tightening the nut (or interface) on the device.

The present invention provides a support for an antenna. In particular, the present invention provides a substrate with conductive transition pads for a co-linear coaxial antenna array. Antenna mounting apparatuses and methods

This invention presents new and alternative design techniques of single feed Dual/Tri ISM band PIFA for wireless system applications. To attain the advantages of and in accordance with the purpose of the present invention, dual and/or tri ISM band PIFA antennas are provided. In particular, an antenna comprises at least a ground plane, a radiating element, a short, and a feed tab. The short provides a connection between the ground plane and the radiating element. The feed tab connected to the radiating element provides RF power and provides initial impedance match. While the feed tab provides initial impedance match, additional impedance match and frequency control are obtained by the inclusion of one or more of a parasitic element, a slot, tuning stubs, and capacitive elements.

Narrow width dual/tri ISM band PIFA for wireless applications

A compact planar antenna is disclosed wherein a radiating element in the shape of a right triangle is formed on a substrate. A ground plane may be positioned on one or both sides of the substrate. In one embodiment, the radiating elements are positioned on the substrate in groups of two or more in close proximity to one another. In another embodiment, the radiating elements are arranged in an array.

Compact planar antenna

A compact planar antenna is disclosed wherein a radiating element in the shape of a right triangle is formed on a substrate. A ground plane may be positioned on one or both sides of the substrate. A slot extends into the radiating element from one side thereof.

Multi-band planar antenna

A compact, multi-band planar antenna for wireless communication devices is disclosed and which comprises a dielectric substrate having a first radiating element formed on one side thereof. The radiating element has a triangular shape and has an opening formed therein. A ground plane element is formed on the other side of the substrate. Various embodiments of the antenna are also disclosed.

A compact dual diversity antenna for RF data and wireless communication devices having a printed circuit board is disclosed. First and second PIFAs are mounted on the PCB in a spaced relationship. Each of the first and second PIFAs include radiating elements having ground planes and shorting posts. The ground plane of the second PIFA is disposed in the same plane as the PCB. The ground plane of the first PIFA is orthogonally disposed with respect to the ground plane of the second PIFA. First and second feed posts connect the first and second PIFAs to the PCB through RF feed lines. The first and second feed posts are disposed perpendicularly to one another.

Compact dual diversity antenna for RF data and wireless communication devices

A microstrip antenna includes a ground plane element and a radiating element. An elongated trough is formed generally in the middle of the radiating element so as to divide the radiating element into two generally equally-sized portions, and in a manner to extend outward from a bottom surface of the radiating element. The trough includes a first side edge, a second side edge, and a bottom surface. A first radiating portion extends from the first side edge, and a second radiating portion extends from the second side edge. The trough provides an elongated microstrip-size element at the bottom surface of the trough. A relatively thin dielectric layer is provided between the bottom surface of the trough and a corresponding portion of the ground plane element, thereby providing that a microstrip transmission line is formed by the bottom surface of the trough, the thin dielectric layer, and the corresponding portion of the ground plane element. A first feed conductor is connected to the ground plane element, and a second feed conductor is connected to the bottom of the trough.

Broadband microstrip antenna having a microstrip feedline trough formed in a radiating element

A transmit/receive antenna selectively operates to transmit or receive at one or more of a plurality of different frequencies in the MHz range. A planar transmission line diplexer or multiplexer that is selected from the group microstrip multiplexer diplexer/multiplexer and stripline diplexer/multiplexer connects an input/output port to a plurality of antenna ports that are physically spaced from each other and from the input/output port. One antenna element is connected to each of the antenna ports. The transmission line diplexer/multiplexer includes a plurality of individual microstrip/stripline elements that have a characteristic impedance and a length that are selected such that the transmission line diplexer/multiplexer automatically provides a matched impedance path between a given antenna element and the input/output port when an antenna-matching frequency is received by the given antenna element or when the antenna matching frequency is applied to the input/output port. At the same time, the transmission line diplexer/multiplexer automatically provides a very mismatched impedance path between all others of the antenna elements and the input/output port.

Method to supply a fluid sample to an analyzer

A small size, flat panel, &frac16;,wavelength antenna is provided. A flat copper-clad dielectric substrate is processed on a first flat side to produce a copper triangular or pseudo triangular-shaped radiating element having a linear copper feed line that extends from the triangle apex. The substrate is also processed on its opposite flat side to produce a rectangular-shaped first copper ground plane element that underlies at least a portion of the copper feed line, but does not underlie the copper radiating element. The first side of the substrate may also be processed to produce a second copper ground plane element that is out of physical engagement with both the copper feed line and the copper radiation element. Aligned through holes are formed in the first ground plane element and the substrate. The metal sheath of a coaxial cable connects to the copper ground plane member(s), and the cable center conductor penetrates the aligned through holes and connects to the copper feed line. The antenna substrate may be a portion of a printed circuit board, or the like, that is within a mobile wireless communication device, such as a laptop computer or a cellular telephone. The antenna ground plane element(s) may also function as the ground plane for another antenna, such as a GPS antenna.

Flat panel antenna

A small size, flat panel, 1/6.sup.th wavelength antenna is provided. The antenna ground plane element(s) may also function as the ground plane for another antenna, such as a GPS antenna.
