The present invention relates to a method and apparatus in a digital communication system that employs phase-aided adaptive modulation to overcome phase noise impairments. The transceiver is configured to transmit a message comprising channel symbols from a primary and a secondary set of channel symbols, wherein the primary set of channel symbols comprises channel symbols having different phase with respect to one another and the secondary set of channel symbols comprises only channel symbols with a fixed known phase.

Method and apparatus for phase-aided adaptive modulation

The present disclosure relates to methods and arrangements for controlling point-to-point microwave transmission on a microwave link between a first and a second microwave network node, wherein the microwave link is configured for payload data transmission at a payload data rate. The method comprises obtaining information indicative of a current data rate capability of the microwave link and comparing the current data rate capability to the configured payload data rate. When the current data rate capability is below the configured payload data rate, transmission on the microwave link is adapted to comprise transmission of dummy data on the microwave link between the first and second microwave network node.

There is provided mechanisms performed by a control device for suppressing interference in a received reception signal in a radio transceiver device. The radio transceiver device is configured to receive the reception signal as a radio reception signal and to generate a radio transmission signal. The radio transmission signal and the radio reception signal occupy at least partly non-overlapping frequency bands. A method comprises obtaining a transmission reference signal based on the radio transmission signal. The method comprises estimating an interference distortion component signal based on the transmission reference signal and on a model of nonlinearity in a radio circuit of the radio transceiver device. The method comprises suppressing interference in the reception signal by combining the reception signal with the distortion component signal.

Interference suppression in a radio transceiver device

A method in a fixed point-to-point radio link transceiver, the method comprising the steps of receiving a first signal from a far end transceiver in a first frequency band, and detecting the presence of interference in the received first signal, as well as transmitting a second signal to the far end transceiver. The step of transmitting comprising including, in the second signal, a request to reduce transmission symbol rate in the far end transmitter when interference is detected in the received first signal.

Adjacent channel interference protection

This disclosure provides a microwave radio transmitter for radio transmission to a microwave radio receiver. The microwave radio transmitter comprises an antenna arrangement and a baseband processing module connected to the antenna arrangement. The antenna arrangement comprises an antenna having a polarization. The baseband processing module is configured to receive a polarization misalignment indication from the microwave radio receiver. The polarization misalignment indication is indicative of a misalignment between the polarization of the antenna and a corresponding polarization of a receive antenna comprised in the microwave radio receiver. The baseband processing module is configured to compensate for polarization misalignment between the antenna and the receive antenna by adjusting the radio transmission based on the polarization misalignment indication.

The method comprising the steps of receiving a first signal from a far end transceiver, and detecting receiver overload due to excess power in the received first signal, and also transmitting a second signal to the far end transceiver. The step of transmitting comprising including, in the second signal, a request to reduce transmission power in the far end transceiver when receiver overload is detected.

A microwave transceiver comprising a data buffer, an ACM module, a PA, and an antenna. The ACM module configured to receive buffered data from the data buffer and to modulate the buffered data at a modulation format having a spectral efficiency, the PA configured to receive modulated buffered data from the ACM module, and to transmit amplified modulated buffered data, via the antenna, to a remote microwave transceiver at an output power. The modulation format is selected from a plurality of modulation formats based on a feedback signal from the remote microwave transceiver. The microwave transceiver further comprising a control module configured to monitor a buffer state of the data buffer, and to control the output power of the PA based on the buffer state.
