A method and wireless communication device use a first processing unit to perform a first communication event within a first communication window by use of a first communication protocol, a second processing unit to perform a second communication event within a second communication window by use of a second communication protocol, and a wireless communication unit connected to a radio-frequency antenna to transmit and/or receive a packet wirelessly. The first and second processing units may perform the first and second communication events via the wireless communication unit. The second processing unit or the wireless communication unit may transmit an event signal to the first processing unit when performing the second communication event or receiving a packet, respectively, to allow the first processing unit to arrange the first communication window (or first communication event) with respect to the second communication window (or second communication event) to minimize interference.

The present disclosure relates to a system and method for establishing a bond for allowing secure communication between a hearing aid and an external device. Especially, the system and method allows for establish the bond without one of the device present during the bonding process.

Pre-pairing of hearing aids

A wireless communication method and a system comprising a first audio source unit and at least a second audio source unit each comprising; a connection management interface for connecting to a network topology, a protocol management interface, a management link and a communication link, and during a configuration period the first audio source unit may be configured to listen for a notification packet via the management link, and, based on a first criteria, the first audio source unit may be configured to establish, via the protocol management interface, a communication group and a respective communication frame. Furthermore, where the first audio source unit may be a coordinator of the communication group, the coordinator may then be configured to establish notification packets in the communication frame, and the notification packets may then be transmitted via the management link assigned to a first time interval in the communication frame. During the configuration period, the second audio source unit may be configured to listen for a notification packet received? via the management link of the second audio source unit, the second audio source unit receives at least the notification packet and may be configured to extract, via a protocol management interface link, information of the management link of the coordinator from the received notification packet, and the second audio source unit may then be configured to transmit an ID information via the management link of the coordinator of the communication group, and where the coordinator may be configured to assign a second time interval for a communication link of the second audio source unit in the communication frame, the second audio source unit may then be configured to become an audio source member of that communication group. During a data communication period the second audio source member may be configured to communicate via the communication link of the audio source member at the second time interval in the communication frame to a sink unit.

The disclosure presents a method and a communication system comprising; an audio gateway including; a first wireless interface configured to transmit and receive an audio signal via a first communication link, a processing unit configured to transfer the audio signal into an audio streaming signal, a second wireless interface configured to transmit the audio streaming signal via a second communication link, a plurality of communication units comprising a master communication unit and at least a first slave communication unit, wherein each of the communication unit comprises: a first wireless interface configured to receive the audio streaming signal via the second communication link and to communicate with a communication unit, a speaker configured to sound the audio streaming signal received from the audio gateway, a memory unit, and wherein the master communication unit is configured to transmit a pairing request via the second communication link to the audio gateway, and the audio gateway transmits then an encryption key to the master communication unit, and the first slave communication unit is configured to request the encryption key by transmitting an encryption request including an identification of the first slave communication unit to the master communication unit via a first internal communication link, and the master communication unit transmits then the encryption key relating to the second communication link to the first slave communication unit based on an access criteria, and the first slave communication unit is then configured to eavesdrop the audio streaming signal being communicated via the second communication link between the audio gateway and the master communication unit.

Communication system including eavesdropping

A method of identifies an appropriate wireless communication channel in an audio receiving device, that comprises 1) a wireless receiver receiving an audio signal on a particular transmission channel selected among a predefined number of possible transmission channels, and 2) a microphone for picking up a sound in the environment of the audio receiving device. The method comprises a) selecting a channel as the receiving channel among a predefined number of possible transmission channels; b) analyzing the received signal received and the signal picked up by the microphone; c) determining whether a predefined criterion concerning the degree of similarity of the received signal and the signal picked up by the microphone is fulfilled; d) KEEPING the channel as the receiving channel, if the predefined criterion is fulfilled; and e) CHANGING the receiving channel to another channel if the predefined criterion is NOT fulfilled.

Method of identifying a wireless communication channel in a sound system

The invention relates to a method of pairing a first device with a second device, the first and second devices being adapted for wirelessly communicating with each other, the pairing of devices aiming at ensuring communication only between trusted devices. The invention further relates to a communication device, a system, a computer readable medium and a data processing system. The object of the present invention is to provide a simple and intuitive scheme for pairing two wireless devices. The problem is solved by providing in the first device an algorithm comprising at least the following states a) A STANDBY state where the first device is in a default state; b) A CONNECTED state where wireless communication between the first and second devices is established; c) A PAIRING state comprising a pairing search state where pairing inquiries are repeatedly issued by the first device; and further providing that when the first device is NOT in the STANDBY or CONNECTED states, the first device is automatically, repeatedly brought in the pairing search state. This has the advantage of providing an automatic scheme for pairing two wireless devices. The invention may e.g. be used for wireless communication devices, e.g. portable, low-power devices, such as listening systems.

Method of pairing wireless devices

The invention relates to an assistive listening system comprising an audio transmitting device adapted for transmitting an audio signal and/or a control signal to a multitude of receiving listening devices and at least one receiving listening device adapted for receiving said audio signal and said control signal from said audio transmitting device. The invention further relates to a method of operating an assistive listening system and to its use. The object of the present invention is to provide an assistive listening system suitable for servicing a multitude of body worn listening devices in a wireless environment. The problem is solved in that the system is adapted to establish a digital link according to the DECT-standard from the audio transmitting device to the at least one receiving listening device, wherein the system is adapted to provide that said link is uni-directional. The system has the advantage of providing a reliable channel selection in a wireless assistive listening system comprising low power, body worn listening devices. The invention may e.g. be used for public address systems, e.g. educational listening systems, comprising listening devices adapted for being worn by a user.

A hearing aid including a radio frequency receiver, where the receiver includes a single oscillator providing a single crystal oscillator frequency and where means are provided for generating a further number of receiving frequencies by transforming the oscillator frequency to the desired receiving frequencies, where further scanning means are provided for upon activation provide a scanning of the possible frequency area and select a detected frequency superceding a predetermined detector level.

Hearing aid with a radio frequency receiver

A hearing aid includes a signal path having an input transducer, a processor and an output transducer, the hearing aid further including a radio frequency receiver, where the receiver includes a single crystal oscillator providing a single oscillator frequency and where means are provided for generating a further number of receiving frequencies by transforming the oscillator frequency to the desired receiving frequencies. The hearing aid and the RF receiver may be separate or integrated. The invention further relates to a separate element comprising a RF receiver, the separate element being adapted for mounting on a hearing aid.
