An apparatus, a system and a method secures, attaches and/or detaches a device to a fixture. A post with an interior secures a retractable reel. The retractable reel has a cable that attaches, connects and/or secures the device to the fixture. The cable extends from the retractable reel and/or extends through the post. A head unit attaches to the device and has a fastening mechanism for connecting and/or for disconnecting the cable to the device. The post has a recession for receiving a head unit and/or for aligning the head unit and/or the device. A fastener and/or an adhesive connects, secures and/or attaches the device to the head unit. A key disconnects the cable from the head unit.

System for securing, attaching and/or detaching a device to a fixture

An improved patch panel assembly includes a frame and faceplate that mate with a housing, and the housing defines a plurality of individual communication ports. The housing is mounted to the patch panel frame and includes jack openings that accommodate data jacks and circuit board openings that accommodate mating blades of circuit boards. The two sets of openings are separated on the housing by an intervening spacing and interposer terminal sets are provided to electrically interconnect the jacks with circuits on the circuit boards. The patch panel housings may be formed in discrete groupings so that, if desired, the patch panels may have ports that are grouped together by bandwidth, storage capability and the like. Inasmuch as the housings are mounted to the patch panel frames, the jacks and the circuit boards can be easily and individually replaced, repaired or upgraded with similar components without requiring disassembly of the patch panel.

Apparatus, system and method for securing, attaching and/or detaching a device to a fixture

The combination of a portable article, a first support, and at least one connecting element for maintaining the portable article in a secured state relative to the first support. The at least one connecting element has at least one arm which overlies a portion of the portable article. At least a portion of the at least one connecting element at least one of a) is made from a hardened metal material, b) has a stepped configuration, and c) has a shaped non-flat surface so as to be resistant to bending in a manner to allow the portable article to be released from the secured state.

Security system for portable articles

A tethering system having an elongate flexible element, with a length, and an anchoring system. The anchoring system has a block defining first and second surfaces. The anchoring system further includes (a) a first anchoring assembly for bearing a first portion of the elongate flexible element against the first surface with the first anchoring assembly in a first state to maintain the first portion of the elongate flexible element substantially fixed against movement relative to the first surface, and (b) a second anchoring assembly for bearing a second portion of the elongate flexible element against the second surface. The first anchoring assembly is changeable selectively between its first state and a second state wherein the first portion of the elongate flexible element can move relative to the first surface to allow the elongate flexible element to be formed into a loop with a variable diameter.

Adjustable tethering system for securing an article

A security system having a flexible cord with a length, a housing, and a connector on the cable. The housing is mountable in an operative position on the support. The cord is urged into a stored state into the housing and can be selectively withdrawn therefrom. The connector is attachable to an article to be monitored. At least one of a) a first discrete part of the cord is repositionable relative to a second discrete part of the cord and b) at least a part of the housing is repositionable relative to a support on which the housing is mounted in an operative position to control twisting of the cord about the length of the cord by reason of turning of the connector.

A lasso for securing an object to be monitored. The lasso has a flexible cord with a length and first and second free ends, and a connector having a body with at least one opening therethrough. The portion of the flexible cord between the first and second free ends is directed through the at least one opening so that the connector and the portion of the flexible cord define a closed first loop with an effective diameter. The portion of the flexible cord is configurable to be generally U-shaped with a base and first and second legs which each project through the at least one opening. At least one of the first and second legs is movable relative to the fitting so that the effective diameter of the closed first loop is variable. The first free end of the flexible cord is directed through the closed first loop so as to define a closed second loop with an effective diameter that is variable by selectively oppositely moving the flexible cord through the closed first loop.

A voltage protector and grounding bar arrangement is provided for use with a telephone terminal block having at least two rows of terminals which are spaced apart from each other so as to define an elongated channel therebetween. A housing has incorporated therein a voltage suppressor, terminal contacts for mating with the terminals of the terminal block, and a ground contact for mating with a grounding bar disposed within the channel of the terminal block. Plug-in carrier devices are adapted to be mounted in a plug-in manner upon the housing, and the carrier devices may comprise fuse-type current limiting devices, positive-temperature-coefficient (PTC) current limiting devices, or bridging clips. The housing may accommodate a single plug-in carrier device, or dual plug-in carrier devices whereby protection is afforded to the circuit-to-be-protected in a multitude of directions.

Voltage and/or current protector and grounding bar arrangement for AT&T

A communication circuit protector is provided for use with connector blocks in telecommunication equipment. The circuit protector includes a uniquely-designed two-piece interfitting housing for accommodating a variety of protector circuits to provide different kinds of over-voltage and/or overcurrent protection while using the same housing. The housing is adapted to plug-in or to be inserted into the connector clips of a Krone-style terminal block. The side of the housing is provided with means for retaining a side ground contact which is connectible to one of the grounding tab members of the grounding bar of the connector block. In a preferred embodiment, the protector circuit includes a diode bridge rectifier, a pair of voltage suppressors, and a pair of sneak current fuses.

Communication circuit protector

A current-limiting protector package for use in conjunction with telephone terminal blocks comprises a two-piece interfitting housing which is made up of two housing halves soncially welded together. A pair of tip or ring terminals is disposed within each housing half along with a current-limiting device in the form of a positive-temperature-coefficient (PTC) device of the conductive polymer type. Lower end portions of the tip or ring terminals project outwardly from the housing so as to be capable of electrical engagement with opposed sets of terminals provided upon the telephone terminal block, while upper end portions of the tip or ring terminals project outwardly from the housing so as to be accessible to a line test probe whereby the lines or circuits of the telephone terminal block can be tested in connection with their operative status without necessitating removal of the protector package from the terminal block.

An improved fail-safe mechanism is provided for use with a sidactor for protecting telecommunication equipment against high voltage surges. A sidactor includes first and second end terminal pins and a central terminal pin. The fail-safe mechanism consists of a torsional type spring and a pair of insulators. The torsional spring includes a single looped portion and a pair of spring arms extending radially outwardly from the opposite sides of the looped portion. The spring arms of the torsional spring are initially formed so as to have an obtuse angle therebetween. The center of the single looped portion is disposed off-centered in relationship to the centers of the first and second end terminal pins of the sidactor during assembly in order to assure that sufficient and constant pressure is applied between the spring arms and the end terminal pins.

Sidactor fail-safe device

A cable clip for retaining coaxial cables and the like against a mounting surface is provided which includes fastener retaining means for holding a fastening device in place prior to user installation. In one embodiment, the fastener retaining means includes a plurality of segmented arcuate-shaped wall portions which are tapered inwardly so as to resiliently grip the fastening device. In a second embodiment, the fastening retaining means includes a plurality of radially extending tabs disposed on the inner surface of a cylindrically-shaped fastener hole for frictional engagement with the fastener device with a retention fit.
