A laser device includes a laser configured to generate laser light and a laser control module configured to receive at least a portion of the laser light generated by the laser, to generate a control signal and to feed the control signal back to the laser for stabilizing the frequency, wherein the laser control module includes a tunable frequency discriminating element which is preferably continuously frequency tunable, and where the laser control module is placed outside the laser cavity.

Laser device

Some embodiments of the invention include apparatus, systems, and methods to adjust a clock generator and an equalizer to reduce jitter in an output signal. A phase detector provides feedback information on a first feedback loop and a second feedback loop. A clock adjustment circuit uses the feedback information on the first feedback loop to adjust a clock generator. An equalizer adjustment circuit uses the feedback information on the second feedback loop to adjust the equalizer. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Adaptive equalizer

A method and apparatus provide a receiver with an architecture to regulate a bit error rate of the receiver using an offset based on detecting false transitions in received data. In an embodiment, such false transitions in data may be determined in a bang-bang detector.

Techniques to adjust sampling times of an input signal. The techniques may utilize multi-level modification of the phase of a sampling clock. For example, the level of modification of the phase of the sampling clock may depend on the phase angle of the sampling clock in which transitions of the input signal occur.
