A transparent colored glass ceramic, in particular an LAS glass ceramic, suitable for use as a cooking surface is provided. The transparent colored glass ceramic includes high-quartz solid solution (HQ s.s.) as a main crystal phase and exhibits thermal expansion of &#x2212;1 to +1 ppm/Kin the range from 20&#xb0; C. to 700&#xb0; C. The glass ceramic has from 3.0 to 3.6 percent by weight of lithium oxide (LiO) as constituents and either is colored with 0.003 to 0.05 percent by weight of vanadium oxide (VO) or is colored with 0.003 to 0.25 percent by weight of molybdenum oxide (MoO).

Glass ceramic with reduced lithium content

A glass-ceramic cooktop is provided that is made of glass-ceramic material with a flat upper side and an underside. The glass-ceramic material has transmittance values of greater than 0.1% in the visible light range in the total wavelength region greater than 420 nm, a light transmittance in the visible range of 0.8-2.5%, and a transmittance of 0-85% in the infrared at 1600 nm, and wherein the glass-ceramic material has high quartz mixed crystals as the prevalent crystal phase. The underside is flat, unstructured, and coplanar with the upper side.

High-strength colored glass ceramics as a cooktop, smooth on both sides

Disclosed are articles that are provided with a haptically-perceptible surface. The articles include a coated glass or glass ceramic substrate which is provided with a layer with haptic properties so that the layer has a haptically perceptible texture. The layer includes texturing inorganic and/or polysiloxane-based particles which are fixed on the substrate by a layer-forming material. The particles cause protrusions on the layer and so produce the haptically perceptible texture.
