The UE registers to a first network for the first SIM, registering to a second network for the second SIM, prior to the UE conducting a high priority activity related to the second SIM, sends, to the first network via a connection associated with the first SIM, a first message comprising an estimated time duration during which the UE conducts the high priority activity related to the second SIM, receives, from the first network, a second message indicating a time period during which the first network will retain a connection context for the connection associated with the first SIM in an RRC Inactive state and when the UE completes the high priority activity, determines the connection context of the first network for the connection associated with the first SIM.

Synchronization of RRC status of a multi-SIM user equipment with a base station

Determining RRC processing delays for multi-subscriber identify module (MSIM) user equipments (UEs) may include decoding a capabilities message from a UE that indicates the UE is an MSIM UE that includes at least a first SIM and a second SIM. A communication for the first SIM of the UE may be encoded. The communication may be configured to cause the UE to perform a radio resource control (RRC) procedure. A transmission request received from the UE may be decoded. The transmission request may be associated with the RRC procedure. In response to receiving the transmission request, an uplink (UL) gram may be scheduled for the first SIM of the UE.

Briefly, in accordance with one or more embodiments, an apparatus of a user equipment (UE), comprises one or more baseband processors to derive a dynamic scrambling key, and a memory to store the dynamic scrambling key and a temporary UE identifier (temporary UE ID) assigned to the UE. The one or more baseband processors monitor a paging request for a scrambled UE identifier (UE ID) to determine if the paging request is intended for the UE by unscrambling the scrambled UE ID with the dynamic scrambling key to produce the temporary UE ID. The paging request is intended for the UE if the temporary UE ID produced by unscrambling the scrambled UE ID matches the temporary UE ID stored in the memory. A new dynamic scrambling key may be derived each time the UE returns to a radio resource control idle (RRC_IDLE) state.

Techniques described herein may be used to enable User Equipment (UE) to efficiently and reliably report supported band combinations to a wireless network. An enhanced NodeB (eNB) may determine eNB-supported bands combinations for carrier aggregation scenarios, create a simplified representation of the eNB-supported bands combinations (e.g., using a highest order band combination, groups of band combinations, etc.), and communicate the eNB-supported bands combinations to the UE. The UE may determine UE-supported band combinations that are among the eNB-supported bands combinations, create a simplified representation of the UE-supported band combinations, and communicate the eNB-supported bands combinations to the eNB. The eNB may use the UE-supported band combinations to allocate appropriate carriers to the UE for carrier aggregation.

Systems and methods to report band combination capabilities in a telecommunication network

Downlink spectral capacity of an eMBMS cell to be maximized for the eMBMS users. In one embodiment, supplementary eMBMS cells may be used together with a primary cell, in which the supplementary eMBMS cells broadcast only eMBMS content and the primary cell is used for uplink and downlink signaling. The primary cell may perform signaling for the corresponding supplementary cells. In this manner, signaling relating to configuring of the eMBMS cells may be offloaded to the non-eMBMS primary cell and eMBMS specific services can be fully utilized from the eMBMS cells. In a second embodiment, an eMBMS cell may be a standalone eMBMS cell that is not associated with a primary cell. In this embodiment, self-contained eMBMS signaling is defined. Additionally, eMBMS data may be broadcast in specified MBSN subframes. In this manner, a device, such as an eMBMS-only device, can independently receive eMBMS services.
