A marine geophysical deflector for towing seismic arrays includes a float main body with one or more deflector wings extending downwards into the sea, and one or more slender top float elements arranged generally in a longitudinal direction on top of the main body. The number of the top float elements may be two or more. There may be arranged two or more distance floats below the float main body and an upper horizontal plate at the top of the one or more deflector wings.

A trawling vessel is provided with a trawl net () for catching marine bio-resources, with a trawl sack () attached aft on a trawl net () for keeping the catch. The vessel comprises lines () for towing and hauling the trawl net (), and trawl drums () for hauling the trawl net (). A lock chamber () is provided in a stern () of the vessel and has a main portion of its volume arranged below the design water line of the vessel. The lock chamber () is arranged for hauling the trawl sack () with the catch from the sea through a sluiceway () in the stern (), for discharging the trawl sack (), and for temporarily keeping the catch. A trunk channel () leading up from the lock chamber () enables the trawl sack (), in a generally discharged state, to be hauled up through the trunk channel () to a deck (), thereby leaving the catch in the lock chamber ().

Trawling vessel with a lock chamber

The invention concerns a central hauling pool ( ) e.g. for a fishing vessel, with the central hauling pool ( ) constituting a generally vertical main tube ( ) through the vessel, with a free lower opening or mouth ( ) towards the sea and a free upper opening ( ) towards the atmosphere. The novel and characterizing feature of the invention is that the upper part of the main tube ( ) has a tube transition ( ) constituting a large relative widening of the cross section area below the water line in the main tube ( ) to an upper tube part ( ). The effect of such a widening of the upper part of the central hauling pool is that the oscillations of the water surface is damped considerably as compared to the heave of the ship and the waves of the sea.
