An apparatus for image contrast enhancement and a method, electronic equipment that includes: a dividing unit configured to divide an input image into at least two layers; and detail degrees of the at least two layers are different; an enhancing unit configured to perform contrast enhancement on each of the at least two layers respectively; and degrees of enhancing contrasts of the layers are different; and a combining unit configured to combine the contrast-enhanced at least two layers. By dividing the input image into at least two layers with different detail degrees and performing contrast enhancement on the at least two layers at different degrees, the contrast of the image may be accurately and effectively enhanced, thereby a display effect of the image may be improved.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an image processing apparatus and method, and electronic equipment. The apparatus includes: a decomposing unit configured to decompose luminance of an input image into an illumination component and a reflectance component; a compressing unit configured to compress the illumination component; an extending unit configured to extend the reflectance component; a combining unit configured to combine the compressed illumination component and the extended reflectance component, to obtain combined luminance; and an adjusting unit configured to adjust the combined luminance. By compressing the illumination component of an input image and extending the reflectance component, a contrast of the image may be efficiently enhanced and an image of a high dynamic range may be obtained, whereby a display effect of the image may be improved.

Image defogging method and system. The method includes: acquiring minimum intensity values corresponding to pixels in a foggy image, and selecting the largest values of intensity values of R, G, and B channels of pixels in an area, covered by a brightest area of a predetermined size in a local minimum intensity image, in the foggy image as component values of R, G, and B channels of an atmosphere light value; acquiring a transformation image of the foggy image with atmosphere light value of the foggy image; acquiring a transmission map of the foggy image by edge-preserving filtering the transformation image; and acquiring intensity values of R, G, and B channels of pixels in a defogged image using transmission map and atmosphere light value of the foggy image and intensity values of R, G, and B channels of pixels in the foggy image.
