A device comprising a modified porous membrane is provided. The modified porous membrane comprises a polymer coating grafted to a porous membrane. The device is used for analyte detection from a biological sample using an immunoassay. The device comprises a sample application zone at one end of the device for applying a biological sample comprising a target analyte; and a detection zone present at another end of the device, downstream of the sample application zone for detecting the target analyte, wherein the detection zone comprises one or more first biomolecules immobilized on a modified porous membrane having a structure of Formula (I).

Porous membranes with a polymer grafting, methods and uses thereof

An electrospinning approach is disclosed for generating a dissolvable formulation of a reagent of interest in a nanoscale fiber medium. In one embodiment, the nanoscale fibers can incorporate and stabilize biological agents of interest, such as for storage at room temperature for extended periods. In one implementation, the fibers can be produced in a continuous manner and dissolve rapidly.

The present disclosure is directed to methods and systems for detecting a substance of interest. The methods and systems include collecting the substance of interest on a collection device comprising an inert fiber material and a siloxane resin. The systems and methods further include heating the collection device in a desorber, wherein heating the device releases the substance of interest from the device, performing an analysis of the substance of interest, and detecting the substance of interest.

Systems and methods for substance detection using thermally stable collection devices

A rapid diagnostic testing device for testing of a biological sample is provided. The device comprises a channeled construct, at least one lateral flow unit, and a cassette housing. The channeled construct is configured to receive a biological sample to form at least partially purified biological sample. The lateral flow unit is at least partially disposed in the cassette housing. The lateral flow unit comprises: a sample receiving zone, a conjugate zone and a detection zone. The sample receiving zone is operatively coupled to the channeled construct for receiving the partially purified biological sample comprising at least one analyte. The conjugate zone comprising a conjugate particle to bind the analyte is disposed adjacent to the first side of the sample receiving zone. The detection zone is disposed adjacent to the second side of the sample receiving zone and comprises at least one binding agent for detecting the analyte.

Device for rapid diagnostic tests to detect antigens with improved sensitivity

A method is provided herein, wherein the method of capturing a target nucleic acid, comprises applying a nucleic acid capture probe to a capture zone of a needs definition, wherein the nucleic acid capture probe having a first molecular weight comprises at least a sequence that is complimentary to at least a portion of the target nucleic acid sequence and the nucleic acid capture probe is substantially immobilized at the capture zone of the substrate. The method further comprises applying a sample comprising the target nucleic acid having a second molecular weight to a sample application zone of the substrate; wherein the sample comprising the target nucleic acid flows across a length of the substrate from the sample application zone to the capture zone by lateral flow, and the target nucleic acid is captured by the nucleic acid capture probes by hybridization to the capture zone.

Methods for capturing nucleic acids

A solid substrate for the extraction, stabilization, and storage of proteins is provided. The substrate includes: a polysaccharide, such as melezitose under a substantially dry state. The substrate is configured to extract proteins from a sample and stabilize the extracted proteins in a dry format under ambient conditions for a prolonged period of time. At least one protein denaturant, and at least one acid or acid-titrated buffer reagent are impregnated in a dry state therein the matrix; and the matrix is configured to provide an acidic pH on hydration. The matrix is configured to extract nucleic acids from a sample and stabilize the extracted nucleic acids, particularly RNA, in a dry format under ambient conditions for a prolonged period of time. Methods for collecting and recovering the nucleic acids stored in the dry solid matrix are also described.
