The invention provides a connection head () for using with a supply cable for supplying power to a device, which device is within a housing. A first end () of the connection head is for mounting outside the housing of the device. A second end () of the connection head is for mounting inside the housing of the device. A closed loop antenna has at least one coil and a pair of feed lines, wherein the feed lines extend from the first end () to the second end (), and the at least one coil is located within the first end (). The connection head of the supply cable provides protection for an antenna and enables the antenna to be mounted outside the housing.

Supply cable, a driver arrangement with wireless control function and a control method

A controllable driver () is provided for driving a load. The controllable driver () comprises a primary converter () and a control circuit () isolated from one another by an opto-isolator (). The controllable driver () is isolated from an output load () by a magnetically coupled pair of windings (); wherein said windings are adapted to provide a voltage supply to said output load. A feedback signal from the output load, indicative of a load current flowing in the second winding, is provided to the control circuit by a winding () isolated from the first and second windings (), such that the control circuit () remains isolated from the output load. The control circuit also directly receive input control signal without an opto-isolator. The control circuit is also isolated from the switching core () of the primary converter () via an opto-isolator. Such a controllable driver reduces the likelihood and impact of electromagnetic interference test failures and potential energy surges.

Controllable driver and drive method

A programmable lighting device includes a power stage, a controller, a nonvolatile memory and a near field communication device. The power stage is configured to receive power from an external supply and supplying power to at least one light source. The controller is configured to control operation of the power stage according to an operating parameter and/or configuration setting for the programmable lighting device. The nonvolatile memory device stores the operating parameter and/or configuration setting. The near field communication device receives a radio frequency signal which communicates the operating parameter and/or configuration setting, and in response thereto stores the operating parameter and/or configuration setting in the nonvolatile memory. The near field communication device generates a supply voltage for powering the nonvolatile memory device from the RF signal.

A driver circuit () for operating at least one load, such as a LED unit () is provided, comprising a switching controller () configured to at least control a switching device () between the discharging and charging mode of a storage inductor, in dependence on the inductor current (I) and to control a duty cycle of the switching operation in dependence on at least one compensation signal, the compensation signal corresponding to either the input (V) voltage or the output voltage (V), so that in case of a variation of the input (V) or output voltage (V), the average output current, provided to the load, is maintained substantially constant.

Driver circuit for at least one load and method of operating the same

Drivers for driving light circuits with light emitting diodes include an isolation circuit with a primary part and a secondary part and a guiding circuit for guiding common mode surge signals to a reference potential. The isolation circuit may be configured to guide a first part of the common mode surge signal away from the light circuit, and the guiding circuit may be configured to guide a second part of the common mode surge signal away from the light circuit, the second part being smaller than the first part. The guiding circuit may include one or more capacitors for connecting one or more terminals of the secondary part to the reference potential, where the value(s) of the one or more capacitors is/are larger than values of a parasitic capacitance of the isolation circuit.
