A method of provenance verification comprises providing a plurality of security devices, each security device being provided with a key set comprising: a secret key, and a plurality of shared keys, each shared key being derived by generating a hash of the secret key and a salt value that is specific to a pair consisting of said security device and another of the plurality of security devices. The method also comprises configuring each security device to: generate and/or receive one or more messages; and perform at least one cryptographic operation on the message or messages, and/or on data derived therefrom, using a respective secret key of the security device and/or one of said shared keys.

According to various embodiments, there is provided an electric meter including a sensor circuit configured to provide a plurality of instantaneous magnetic field measurements; a processing circuit configured to generate a time-series of magnetic field vectors, each magnetic field vector of the time-series of magnetic field vectors including the plurality of instantaneous magnetic field measurements; and a total current determination circuit configured to determine a total current, wherein the total current is a sum of currents of each branch of a plurality of branches of a power distribution network; wherein the processing circuit is further configured to compute a de-mixing matrix based on the determined total current and the time-series of magnetic field vectors, and further configured to linear transform each magnetic field vector using the de-mixing matrix to determine a current of each branch.

Modifiedyeast that produce terminal alkenes are described. The modification of theyeast includes insertion of at least one heterologous fatty acid decarboxylase gene, deletion of FAA1 and FAA4, overexpression of HEM3, and triple-deletion of CTT1, CTA1 and CCP1. Methods of producing terminal alkenes by culturing and fermenting the modifiedyeast and optionally harvesting the terminal alkenes are also described. Mixtures of terminal alkenes produced by the modifiedyeast, and methods of metabolically engineering a yeast for optimizing overexpression of one or more alkenes are also described.
