Disclosed are heparin conjugates comprising heparin conjugated to a peptide that binds to a protein of the extracellular matrix (ECM) of cellular tissue, such as a collagen-binding peptide that binds to collagen of the ECM. The disclosed heparin conjugates may be utilized in methods that include treating ECM material to incorporate the heparin conjugates and impart anticoagulant activity to the ECM. The disclosed heparin conjugates also may be formulated as pharmaceutical compositions for treating and/or preventing vascular injuries and conditions.

Heparin conjugated to collagen-binding peptides for targeting to biological and synthetic tissues

A hydrogel delivery composition and method, including degradable microcapsules suspended in a degradable thermo-responsive hydrogel. The hydrogel is thermo-responsive at a physiological temperature and changes after application to a more solid state due to body temperatures. The composition includes one or more treatment agents to be released over time as the composition degrades. The composition can be varied to modify the structure and/or release of the treatment agent. The degradable microcapsules include one or more of magnesium hydroxide (Mg(OH)), bovine serum albumin (BSA), polyethylene glycol (PEG), and sucrose to improve release duration.

Biodegradable extended release microsphere-hydrogel ocular drug delivery system and method

Biodegradable microsphere-hydrogel ocular drug delivery system

Provided herein are bioactivated polymer/extracellular matrix (ECM) composites and methods of preparation and use thereof. In particular, heparinized cysteine-polymer/ECM composites, and methods of preparation and use thereof, are provided. In some embodiments, provided herein are compositions comprising a composite of: (a) extracellular matrix (ECM), and (b) a polyester covalently linked to a bioactive agent. In some embodiments, the composite is a homogeneous composite. In some embodiments, the ECM is decellularized ECM. In some embodiments, the ECM is not substantially crosslinked.

Thromboresistant-anticoagulant extracellular matrix

Disclosed is a transformer control device and method based on a three-dimensional zone diagram policy. The method includes: setting transformers, including a transformer A and a transformer B; collecting three-phase voltage data and three-phase current data in a power system; rectifying the collected three-phase voltage data and the three-phase current data; transferring the data to the latches in a time-transfer method; transferring the data to an A/D converter of a processor to convert analog signals to digital signals; constructing a three-dimensional zone diagram in the processor; determining transformer operating conditions according to positions of points formed by voltage, reactive power factor and substation load; and adjusting the transformers. This invention adopts a simple, easy and clear three-parameter control policy including voltage, power factors and substation loads, so as to simplify analysis of transformer operating conditions, realize optimal substation operation, reduce transformer loss, and increase economic benefits.
