Aspects of the embodiments are directed to passive depth determination. Initially, a high power depth map of a scene can be created. An object in the scene can be identified, such as a rigid body or other object or portion of an object. A series of lower power or RGB images can be captured. The object can be located in one or more of the lower power or RGB images. A change in the position of an object, represented by a set of pixels, can be determined. From the change in position of the object, a new depth of the object can be extrapolated. The extrapolated depth of the object can be used to update the high power depth map.

Reducing power consumption for time-of-flight depth imaging

A motor driver may include a controller, a space vector modulator, a converter and a detector. The space vector modulator may generate driving signals under control of the controller according to a space vector pulse width modulation ('SVPWM') scheme. The converter may derive AC signals from the driving signals received from the space vector modulator and may output the AC signals to the USM motor. The detector may generate feedback signals representing current and voltage supplied to the USM motor. The controller may revise estimates of space vectors, based on measurements from the detector, to control the space vector modulator to adjust frequencies, amplitudes, or phase angles of the plurality of AC signals.

Space vector pulse modulation based motor driver

A system and method provide for an adaptive median filter with edge protection and four line buffers to remove the impulse noise for a Bayer pattern image. The system and method separates the Bayer pattern image data into different channels by color and applies the adaptive median filter to remove the impulse noise on each channel. The adaptive median filter has five threshold values that may be modified to achieve different light condition response based on the detected noise level of the image. Thus, proper threshold values with better brightness response to the input pixels may be applied and impulse noise may be suppressed effectively, while preserving image details.

A circuit may include a splitter, a controller, and a termination. The splitter may generate, based upon input signals, a plurality of output signals, wherein at least one of the input signals is in more than one different modes at different times and the output signals comprise a first set of the output signals generated based upon comparison of pairs of signals of the first set against each other and a second set of the output signals generated based upon comparison of each signal of the second set to a predetermined threshold voltage. The controller may determine, based upon the second set of the output signals, whether the input signals are in the one of the more than one different modes to generate one or more control signals. The termination may connect loads to each of the input lines, based upon the one or more control signals.

Timing generators and methods of generating timing signals are disclosed. In one implementation, a timing generator for an imaging device includes a timing generator memory configured to store timing information, a timing core coupled to the timing generator memory and configured to read the timing information from the timing generator memory, and a processor core coupled to the timing core and configured to control a plurality of counters. The timing core can be further configured to generate a plurality of timing patterns based on the timing information and the plurality of counters. The timing generator can also be configured to generate a plurality of toggle positions for a plurality of timing signals based on the plurality of timing patterns.

Space vector modulation methods and structures are provided that reduce feedback errors which degrade motor control performance. In particular, the rotation of a reference voltage vector V is modified as it rotates with respect to voltage vectors that each represent a respective one of converter switch states in an electric-motor control system. One embodiment modifies the reference voltage vector V as it approaches various voltage vectors and another modifies the reference voltage vector V when its magnitude is less than a predetermined magnitude.

A system and method for executing random pulse width modulation in electronic power converters. In accordance with this invention, the sampling period of sampling cycles for pulse width modulation remains constant while the period of switching cycles are varied. The periods of switching cycles are varied using random numbers to calculate delays between the start of coincident sampling and switching cycles.
