Herein is described a liquid electrophotographic a printing apparatus comprising: a photoconductor; a liquid electrophotographic ink developer unit for applying liquid electrophotographic ink to the photoconductor; a cleaner roller contactable with the photoconductor, the cleaner roller comprising an open-celled foam material having thereon a coating comprising abrasive particles and a binder. Also described herein is a cleaner roller for cleaning a liquid electrophotographic printing apparatus' photoconductor and a method of operating a liquid electrophotographic printing apparatus using a cleaner roller described herein.

Cleaner rollers and cleaning electrophotographic photoconductors

Described herein is a liquid electrostatic ink developer assembly comprising a developer roller having a surface coating, the surface coating comprising a polyurethane resin formed from a polyol; a hydroxyl-terminated polysiloxane; and a polyisocyanate. Also, described herein is a liquid electrostatic printing apparatus comprising the liquid electrostatic ink developer assembly.

Liquid electrostatic ink developer assembly

The present disclosure relates to a liquid electrophotographic ink developer unit. The unit comprises a developer roller comprising a layer formed from a polymer composition containing a conductive filler, whereby the polymer composition has a specific resistivity of less than 1&#xd7;10&#x3a9;&#xb7;cm. The unit also comprises a secondary roller that co-operates with the developer roller.

Liquid electrophotographic ink developer unit

A radiation curable polyurethane-based binder dispersion includes water and a radiation curable polyurethane dispersed in the water. The polyurethane is formed from: a polyisocyanate; a polyol having a chain with two hydroxyl functional groups at one end of the chain and no hydroxyl groups at an opposed end of the chain, and having a number average molecular weight ranging from about 500 to about 5,000; an acrylate or methacrylate, the acrylate or methacrylate having at least one hydroxyl functional group and having an acrylate functional group or a methacrylate functional group; an alcohol or a diol or an amine having a number average molecular weight less than 600; and a sulfonate or sulfonic acid having one or two amino functional groups.

Radiation curable polyurethane-based binder dispersion

An example of a radiation curable binder dispersion includes water and a radiation curable binder dispersed therein. The radiation curable polyurethane is formed from a polyisocyanate; an acrylate or methacrylate having at least two hydroxyl functional groups and having an acrylate functional group or a methacrylate functional group; another acrylate or methacrylate having one hydroxyl functional group or one amino functional group; and one of i) a homopolymer or copolymer of poly(ethylene glycol) having one or two hydroxyl functional groups or one or two amino functional groups at one end of its chain; or ii) a combination of i and a compound including a carboxylic functional group.

Radiation curable binder dispersion

An example of a radiation curable binder dispersion for an inkjet ink includes water and a radiation curable polyurethane dispersed in the water. The radiation curable polyurethane has a weight average molecular weight that is equal to or less than 5,000, a glass transition temperature (T) less than 25&#xb0; C., and a double bond density higher than 4.0. The radiation curable polyurethane binder dispersion is formed from a non-aromatic diisocyanate; a polyol; an acrylate or methacrylate, the acrylate or methacrylate having at least two hydroxyl functional groups and having an acrylate functional group or a methacrylate functional group; a compound including i) an ionic group or ii) a group to form an ionic group; and another acrylate or methacrylate, the other acrylate or methacrylate having a hydroxyl functional group or an amino functional group.

Radiation curable binder dispersion for an inkjet ink

A binder dispersion includes water and polyurethane. The polyurethane is formed from polyisocyanate; polyol having two hydroxyl (OH) groups at one chain end, no OH groups at an opposed chain end, and a number average molecular weight (M) ranging from &#x2dc;500-&#x2dc;5,000; an alcohol, diol or amine having a M&#x3c;500; and one of i) a carboxylic acid; ii) a sulfonate or sulfonic acid having one amino group; iii) i and ii; iv) i and a homopolymer or copolymer of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) having one or two OH or amino groups at one chain end; v) ii and a homopolymer or copolymer of PEG having one or two OH or amino groups at one chain end; or vi) i, ii, and a homopolymer or copolymer of PEG having one or two OH or amino groups at one chain end.
