A method of servicing a subterranean formation comprising placing a wellbore servicing system within a wellbore penetrating the subterranean formation, wherein the wellbore servicing system comprises a first activatable stimulation assembly and a second activatable stimulation assembly incorporated within a tubular string, configuring the wellbore servicing system to provide a route of fluid communication from the first activatable stimulation assembly to a first zone of the subterranean formation, introducing a treatment fluid into the first zone of the subterranean formation via the first activatable stimulation assembly, and embedding a first portion of the wellbore servicing system within the wellbore.

Method and wellbore servicing apparatus for production completion of an oil and gas well

Apparatuses and methods for improving the reliability of pinpoint stimulation operations is disclosed. A pinpoint stimulation improvement apparatus is disclosed which includes a hold down device, at least one flow reducer coupled to the hold down device, and a jetting tool coupled to the flow reducer. The flow reducer is positioned downstream from the jetting tool. A fluid flowing through the jetting tool passes through the flow reducer and forms a sand plug downstream from the pinpoint stimulation improvement apparatus.

Methods and equipment to improve reliability of pinpoint stimulation operations

Systems, apparatuses, and methods for producing fluids from a wellbore wherein fluids may be communicated through an aperture in a wall of the wellbore. A laser can then be used to seal the aperture in the wall of the wellbore. The wall of the wellbore may include a casing, and the laser can be used to seal the aperture in the wall of the wellbore by fusing apertures in the casing shut. Fusing the aperture in the casing can involve heating the casing such that opposite sides of the aperture fuse together or can involve selectively laser sintering fusible powders. The wall of the wellbore can be an open hole and using a laser to seal the aperture can include sealing the aperture in side surfaces of the open hole by glazing the surface of hole extending into a subterranean formation.

A well bore servicing apparatus comprising a housing having a longitudinal axis and a through bore, and a movable member disposed in the housing, the movable member having a through bore and a fluid aperture therein, wherein the movable member is movable between a first stop position and a second stop position relative to the housing, wherein the fluid aperture is in fluid communication with the housing through bore and the movable member through bore to provide a fluid stream to the well bore in the first and second axially spaced stop positions.

Method and apparatus for moving a high pressure fluid aperture in a well bore servicing tool

Methods may include selecting a slot size of apertures to control sand production including formation fines in fluid from a subterranean zone. The slot size may be selected based on a distribution of sizes of particles in fluid from the subterranean zone. A laser may be used to form apertures with the selected slot size in a casing installed in a wellbore in the subterranean zone. Systems and apparatuses may be configured to perform the above operations.

Systems, methods, and apparatuses involve selecting an aperture geometry to filter solids from fluid from a subterranean zone, the aperture geometry selected based on a distribution of sizes of particles in the fluid from the subterranean zone. A laser can be used to form slots with the selected aperture geometry in a casing installed in a well in the subterranean zone, the aperture geometry having a size selected based on the distribution of sizes of the particles.

Methods, systems, and devices related to downhole wellbore operations such as drilling and completing wells in an earth formation include a laser device. For example, a method may include characterizing a subterranean formation, selecting an orientation of an aperture based on characteristics of the subterranean formation, and using a laser to form an aperture of the selected orientation in the wall of the wellbore.

Methods, systems, and devices related to downhole wellbore operations, such as drilling and completing wells in an earth formation, include a laser device. A first portion of a subterranean formation can be characterized, the first portion being at a first location. A first orientation of an aperture can be selected based on the characteristics of the first portion of the subterranean formation. A laser beam can be used to create the aperture having the first orientation. A second portion of the subterranean formation can be characterized, the second portion being at a second location different from the first location. A second orientation, different from the first orientation, can be selected based on the characteristics of the second portion of the subterranean formation. The laser beam can be moved to the second location and can be used to form the aperture having the second orientation.

A well bore servicing apparatus comprising a housing having a longitudinal axis and a through bore, and a movable member disposed in said housing, said movable member having a through bore and a fluid aperture therein, wherein said movable member is movable between a first stop position and a second stop position relative to said housing and along said axis, wherein said fluid aperture is in fluid communication with said housing through bore and said movable member through bore to provide a fluid stream to the well bore in said first and second axially spaced stop positions. The present invention is directed to a method of isolating hydrajet stimulated zones from subsequent well operations. The method includes the step of drilling a wellbore into the subterranean formation of interest. Next, the wellbore may or may not be cased depending upon a number of factors including the nature and structure of the subterranean formation. Next, the casing, if one is installed, and wellbore are perforated using a high pressure fluid being ejected from a hydrajetting tool. A first zone of the subterranean formation is then fractured and stimulated. Next, the first zone is temporarily plugged or partially sealed by installing an isolation fluid into the wellbore adjacent to the one or more fractures and/or in the openings thereof, so that subsequent zones can be fractured and additional well operations can be performed.

The invention provides a method of treating a subterranean formation penetrated by a wellbore, the method comprising the steps of: (a) mixing a particulate and an active material to obtain an at least partially coated particulate, wherein: (i) water forms a contact angle of less than 90 degrees with a surface of the particulate, (ii) the active material is capable of forming a coating on the particulate, (iii) the active material forms a contact angle less than 90 degrees with the particulate, and (iv) water forms a contact angle of greater than 90 degrees with a layer of the active material; (b) mixing the at least partially coated particulate and a carrier fluid to obtain a treatment fluid; and (c) introducing the treatment fluid into the subterranean formation through the wellbore to deposit the at least partially coated particulate into the subterranean formation.

Methods of well stimulation during drilling operations

The invention relates to methods and apparatus for creating multiple fractures in subterranean formations. The apparatus is a jetting tool having a plurality of sets of jetting nozzles so that the sets of nozzles are substantially parallel to one another such that parallel cavities may be formed substantially simultaneously in the formation. The jetting nozzles may be adapted to provide a fluid jet that flares outwardly from the nozzle. The nozzles also may be aligned such that cavities in the formation overlap to form a single cavity. The nozzles may be further adapted so that holes jetted into the casing thereby are still spaced from one another. Methods of fracturing subterranean formations using the apparatus are also disclosed.

Methods and apparatus for multiple fracturing of subterranean formations

A wellbore completion design is provided, which creates a convective flow action that separates water and sand from hydrocarbons during production of the hydrocarbons from a subterranean formation. A deviated section of the wellbore creates the desired effect. The wellbore completion design may include a secondary bore, which intersects the deviated section of the wellbore at an acute angle, to accumulate the separated water and sand. An injection pump disposed in the toe section of the secondary bore can also be employed to pump the water back into the water containing portion of the subterranean formation. If solids are present in more than trace amounts, the toe section of the secondary bore may be formed at an acute angle to the remaining portion of the secondary bore to prevent blockage of the pump. Alternatively, a tertiary bore may be provided, so that the solids can accumulate in the secondary bore and the water can flow into the tertiary bore.
