System and methods are presented for configuring and managing metadata switches and platform licenses in a distributed system. Using metadata switches, a platform license can be developed for a software product without the need for an engineer to develop the platform license by hand. A software application depot can be used to configure metadata switches that provide configuration information for a particular aspect of the software product and, when associated to a platform license that utilizes metadata switches, generate an accessible platform license for use by tenant organizations.

Responsive to a request for accessing a first web page, first code for the first web page is caused to be retrieved from a first web application. Responsive to a user's selection of the access, the first web page is caused to be updated to include a first user interface (UI) component that identifies a second web page; responsive to the updated first web page, second code for the second web page is caused to be retrieved from a second web application; and responsive to the second code, the second web page is caused to be displayed inside the first UI component to allow for the simulation.

Systems and methods are provided for parsing, at a server, a design file including code for a user interface, where the code is readable by the server into a tree representation having nodes, the nodes represent design elements of the user interface and includes one or more design properties, a unique identifier, and references to child elements. The server traverses the tree representation and comparing the design elements of the tree representation to a set of factors to determine when the design elements and meet a criteria to be a subcomponent for one or more components of the code of the design file. The server adds the design elements to a list of subcomponent candidates that meet at least one of the set of factors to be a subcomponent. The server generates a tree structure for the one or more components using the list of subcomponent candidates.

A system for conducting user interface (UI) software component testing has been developed. The test of the UI software component is initiated and a display of the test results are shown to a user in a browser used in the testing. A code editor used for debugging by the user receives the test results from the browser and presents the test results to the user for debugging. The browser webview and the code editor are simultaneously displayed to the user in a dual screencast window during the UI software testing.

In one embodiment and by way of example, a method includes dynamically running simulation of modifications to performance factors associated with a web product, and collecting actionable insights associated with the performance factors based on one or more of cost-benefit ratings of the performance factors, one or more delivery platforms, one or more device types. The method may further include recommending, based on the actionable insights, one or more adjustments to one or more of the performance factors to enhance performance of the web product, and facilitating, based on the recommendations, the one or more adjustments to one or more virtual knobs corresponding to the one or more performance factors to facilitate one or more modifications to one or more metrics to enhance the performance of the web product.

Actionable insights for performance of web products in database systems

An infrastructure management system automatically determines a configuration of infrastructure services for the execution of applications that best satisfies predefined target criteria based on receiving annotated application programming interface (API) schemas associated with the applications. The system extracts information from customized annotations in a received API schema, sets up an API gateway with an existing configuration of infrastructure services, and logs requests received at this existing configuration via the gateway. The system generates a set of alternate configurations based on the extracted information, simulates execution of a set of logged requests to determine a set of valid configurations, and subsequently selects a new configuration that satisfies threshold predefined target criteria. The system may update the existing configuration to the new configuration without interrupting application services.

In accordance with embodiments, there are provided mechanisms and methods for facilitating identification of code ownership through test coverage in database systems according to one embodiment. In one embodiment and by way of example, a method includes identifying a code developed by one or more teams, generating code coverage segment data associated with the code, where the code coverage segment data to identify one or more segments of the code associated with one or more teams. The method may further include calculating, based on the code coverage segment data, a percentage of support provided by each of the one or more teams in developing each of the one or more segments, and determining, based on the support percentage, an ownership share of each of the one or more segments associated with each of the one or more teams.

An application programming interface (API) simulator generates synthetic responses for use during development and testing of subsystems. The API simulator receives an API schema including annotations that specify constraints on the synthetic responses. The API simulator generates synthetic responses as results of APIs that conform to the constraints specified using the annotations. The use of API simulator allows testing of subsystems using realistic synthetic responses that satisfy specific constraints as specified using annotations of the API schema.

Techniques and architectures for managing streamlining validation operations. Tokens to represent at least one of a style characteristic, a script component and a layout element are provided. An update bundle having two or more tokens representing changes from previous versions of corresponding tokens to specify current versions of the tokens, is provided. User interface code is analyzed to determine if the code utilizes the two or more tokens in a manner consistent with the current versions of the tokens. An activity list for tokens in the UI not being used in the manner consistent with the current versions of the tokens is generated.
