Pressure gauges according to this invention provide pressure measurement on all brands of crimping tools, including 6-Ton D3 tools. In particular, this design eliminates the need to remove the tool crimp head to measure the pressure of the crimping tool. Additionally, this design eliminates the need to install additional dedicated fixtures on the crimping tool to measure the ram pressure. This design incorporates a self-centering profile to avoid side-loading when mounting the pressure gauge in the crimping tool. The dial indicator on pressure gauges of this invention captures and holds the maximum pressure reading with the use of a simple manual lever. The lever can be easily reset for the next pressure reading. Pressure gauges according to various embodiments of this invention include dual piston pressure sensors. Additionally, pressure measurement is accomplished with a simple hydro mechanical manometer display.

Pressure measuring device for crimping tool

A submersible electrical connector intended for use in a power distribution network permits a metal to stripped metal conductor connection to be visually inspected and verified by the installer while eliminating many opportunities for human error present with existing connectors. The connector in one embodiment includes a generally cup or dome-shaped enclosure which is preferably transparent. An open end of the enclosure mates with an upper seal body and a connector plate has a number of apertures adapted to receive the bare metal ends of conductors or wires inserted through the upper seal body. Each aperture in the connector has an associated set screw for securing the conductor thereto. A molded seal member is adapted to mate with the upper seal body and to provide a water-tight connection when mated with the enclosure. The seal member has a number of seal ducts each aligned with one of the apertures in the connector. The seal ducts provide a water-tight seal around the plastic sheath of the conductor when installed in the assembly. Each seal duct initially includes a missile-shaped wire way guide plug inserted therein. Each wire way guide plug can be opened at the bottom to receive the exposed end of the conductor therein. The wire way guide plugs remain installed in the seal ducts to seal them until a conductor is inserted through the associated seal duct.

Each seal duct initially includes a missel-shaped wire way guide plug inserted therein. Each wire way guide plug is open at the bottom to receive the exposed end of the conductor therein. The wire way guide plugs remain installed in the seal ducts to seal them until a conductor is inserted through the associated seal duct.

A lay-in electrical connector having a lug body with multiple dividing walls defining multiple conductor-receiving channels, multiple lug caps each associated with one of the conductor-receiving channels, and a tang secured with the lug body. The electrical connector is free of welded joints as the tang is coupled with the lug body by a clamping force applied by binding screws of the lug caps to conductors positioned within corresponding ones of the conductor-receiving channels. The tang, including the mounting holes extending through the tang, may be formed by an extrusion process. A removable plug element is provided for holding the lug caps and/or tang in a pre-assembled relationship with the lug body prior to use.
