In an example, an optoelectronic module may include a housing enclosing at least one optical transmitter or receiver and a slider configured to move with respect to the housing. The slider may include at least one protrusion configured to engage a cage sized and shaped to receive the housing. The optoelectronic module may include a bail rotatably coupled to the housing, and the bail may be configured to actuate the slider when the bail is rotated. The optoelectronic module may include a retainer configured to engage with the housing and the bail to retain the bail in a fixed position with respect to the housing.

Such an arrangement reduces track mis-registration when servo is copied from a disk surface to the other surfaces of the disks in the drive.

An actuator arm assembly has an actuator arm and an actuator for moving the actuator arm whereby the arm assembly experiences vibrations. The actuator has a body with a recess formed therein, and a strain sensor is fitted essentially inside the recess such that the sensor generates signals correlated to the vibrations. This arrangement produces a high gain boost from the strain based sensor, making an amplifier circuit unnecessary. The sensor signals are used to damp the vibrations.
