A device for arresting the propagation of a buckle appearing on an outer tube of a double-walled rigid pipe intended to transport hydrocarbons and consisting of two coaxial tubes. The double-walled pipe is of the reelable type and intended for very great depths and consists of a thick and rigid annular transverse partition fastened to the inner tube and to the outer tube. The partition is joined to the outer tube and to the inner tube by way of an outer and inner sleeve having the same diameter as the outer and inner tubes and fastened to the latter.

In combination, a lower pipeline, an upper pipeline which crosses the lower pipeline, and at least one pipeline crossing module for supporting the upper pipeline above the lower pipeline. The pipeline crossing module may comprise a spacing element; a clip element attached to the spacing element and sized for surrounding the upper pipeline while permitting the module to rotate about the upper pipeline to a position in which the module is disposed downward from the upper pipeline. The at least one module may comprise a first module and a second module, the first module and the second module being disposed on the upper pipeline so as to define a downward-facing support surface for contacting an upper surface of the lower pipeline to support the upper pipeline thereon. Or, the first module and the second module may be sized for being disposed resting on the seabed, at respective locations along the length of the upper pipeline on opposite sides of the lower pipeline, so as to support the upper pipeline bridging over the lower pipeline.

A subsea connector system and method utilizing a skid (18) on the sea floor (F) four coupling a subsea conduit (16) carried by the skid (18) to a subsea conduit (12) on a relatively fixed subsea structure (10). A lift line device or structure (24) has an upper lift line (36) connected by a spreader bar (40) to a pair of lower guide lines (38) which are directed from a vertical position to a generally horizontal relation by J-tubes (30). The ends of the guide lines (38) have anchor members (42) thereon which are anchored to guides (46) on the subsea facility (10). Upon raising of the upper lift line (36), the skid (18) moves in a combined pulling and lifting motion to engage a side (52) of the subsea facility (10) for being guided into a docked position with aligned guides (46) on the subsea facility (10). In this position, an ROV (26) secures the skid (18) into a releasably locked position by insertion of retainer pins (not shown) into aligned openings (35, 51) of the skid (18) and subsea facility (10). Then, coupling (20) on the end of flowline conduit (16) is coupled onto aligned conduit (12) on the subsea facility (10). A preferred embodiment is shown in FIGS. 8-11 for connecting horizontal conduits (12A, 16A). Another embodiment is shown in FIGS. 12-16 for connecting vertical conduits (16B, 17B) on skid (18B) and wellhead structure (14B ).

Subsea connector system and method for coupling subsea conduits

A method and apparatus for orienting a flowline so that it may be remotely connected to a riser connected to an offshore structure. The apparatus includes a structural guide, connected to the offshore structure, that is capable of being rotated so that the front side of the structural guide is directed toward the lead end of the flowline. The structural guide is designed in such a manner so that is is automatically rotated by the cable which is used to pull the flowline to the offshore structure when tension is applied to the cable. The lead end of the flowline is directed upwardly by a pipe guide. The pipe guide has riser guidepost recepticals that receive guideposts as they are lowered from the offshore structure by guidelines. The guidelines and guideposts direct the riser into position over the lead end of the flowline for final connection.

Method and apparatus for remotely orienting a flowline for connection to

A method and apparatus for aligning a component with an underwater receptacle is disclosed. The component is attached to one end of a swing arm having a hook attached to the other end. The swing arm is lowered in the water until the hook engages a pivot attached to an underwater base at a selected distance from the receptacle. Following such contact, the component is lowered in an arcuate path defined by the rotation of the swing arm about the pivot until the component is aligned with the receptacle. In another embodiment of the invention, a stop is attached to a vertical guidepost at a selected distance from the receptacle and a guidepost engaging hook pivots to lower the component into alignment with the receptacle.
