This application relates to antibodies reactive with a novel homogenous human cytokine, Natural Killer Stimulator Factor (NKSF), having the ability to induce the production of gamma interferon in vitro in human peripheral blood lymphocytes, and a pharmaceutical preparation containing such antibodies.

The present invention provides DNA encoding an Fc&#x3b3;RIII(CDl6) receptor protein expressed on NK cells. The invention also provides a stable cell line expressing the Fc&#x3b3;RIII(CDl6) from NK cells. Further provided is a method for determining the presence of HIV-enhancing antibodies and a method for treating an HIV-infected subject.
