Disclosed herein are isolated compounds or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, which exhibit immunostimulatory or anti-inflammatory effects. The compounds are isolated from the fruiting body ofin a solid culture. Also disclosed are methods of stimulating immune responses and/or treating an inflammatory disorder with these compounds and pharmaceutical compositions including the compounds or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof.

The present invention relates to compounds having estrogenic activity selected from the group consisting of Loliolide, (4S,6S)-4-Hydroxy-6-nonadecyl-tetrahydro-pyran-2-one, (4R,6S)-4-Hydroxy-6-nonadecyl-tetrahydro-pyran-2-one and analogues thereof. The compounds of the present invention are selective estrogen receptor modulator, which can selectively activate ER&#x3b2; and simultaneously express high estrogenic activity, and also can be applied as medical or food compositions to improve estrogen deficiency-related symptoms.
