A method for determining an energy score for a guest room of a hotel having a plurality of guest rooms includes identifying two or more energy saving conditions associated with the guest room under which there is an opportunity to save energy when controlling the guest room without sacrificing guest comfort. The guest room is controlled in a designated energy savings mode when one or more of the energy savings room conditions are detected, and controlling the guest room in a guest comfort mode when none of the energy savings room conditions are detected. An energy score for the guest room is determined based at least in part on a measure of reliability of detecting the two or more energy savings conditions of the guest room, and thus the ability to take advantage of the opportunities to save energy when controlling the guest room.

Methods and systems for evaluating energy conservation and guest satisfaction in hotels

A system reduces risk of pathogen exposure within a space that is located within a facility having a plurality of spaces that periodically have one or more people within the space. The system includes one or more occupancy sensors that are configured to provide an indication of when the space is occupied and when the space is not occupied. A sanitizer is configured to sanitize surfaces within the space when activated. A controller is operably coupled with the one or more occupancy sensors and the sanitizer. The controller is configured to determine a designated time to sanitize the space based at least in part upon information received from the one or more occupancy sensors and to automatically instruct the sanitizer to sanitize surfaces within the space at the designated time.

Systems and methods for reducing risk of pathogen exposure within a space

A system for controlling one or more components servicing a space of a building based on an occupancy status of the space. The system may comprise a motion sensor, a person sensor for detecting each person passing through an access to the space, and a controller operatively coupled to the motion sensor and the person sensor. The controller may be configured to monitor the motion sensor for detected motion in the space, monitor the person sensor and maintain a people count of people currently in the space. The controller may use the detection of motion and/or the people count to determine if the space is occupied or unoccupied. The controller may then control one or more of the components servicing the space in a first control mode when the space is determined to be occupied and in a second control mode when the space is determined to be unoccupied.

A kit includes hand-held sensors that are each configured to measure one or more of the healthy building parameters and a portable device that is configured to capture the measured current values of the one or more of the healthy building parameters that were measured using the hand-held sensors and to determine a healthy building score and one or more recommendations for improving the healthy building score of the building. A device for monitoring an identification and positioning system may comprise a transceiver and a controller operatively coupled to a memory. The controller may be configured to receive a status signal from the transceiver indicative of an inspection of a component, obtain an identity of the component, a location of the component, and a signal strength of a signal produced by the component, access a record from the memory, determine whether the record includes an identity of the component or a location of the component that matches the obtained identity or location of the component, observe a difference in the obtained signal strength and a signal strength from the record, and send a notification of an issue concerning the component when the difference is outside a range.
