A proxy framework communicatively connected to source systems and backend systems can intercept a call from a client device to a legacy backend system, interprets the call, and determines whether an account associated with the client device has migrated to an information exchange platform. If so, the proxy framework can direct the call to a native backend system that is native to the information exchange platform, instead of the legacy backend system. If not, the call is forwarded to the legacy backend system.

A device may receive information that identifies a failover configuration associated with a user device. The failover configuration may identify a backup user device. The device may receive information indicating that a failover condition, identified in the failover configuration, has been satisfied. The device may identify the backup user device based on receiving the information indicating that the failover condition has been satisfied. The device may contact the backup user device based on identifying the backup user device. The device may determine that a service request, associated with a service and intended for the user device, is to be forwarded to the backup user device based on contacting the backup user device. The service may be identified by the failover configuration. The device may forward the service request to the backup user device to permit the backup user device to obtain the service rather than the user device.

Failover for mobile devices

An approach is provided for enabling advertisers to correlate a communication session with an amount of consumption of the advertisement by a viewer. A correlation platform tracks an amount of consumption of an advertisement presented via a set-top box associated with a user. The amount of consumption of the advertisement is then correlated to a communication session initiated by the user in response to the presentation of the advertisement.

A system may be configured to receive a request for emergency contact information associated with a first user. The request may include information identifying the first user. The system may further determine a geographic location of the first user; and identify a second user. A network device receives a message that identifies a relationship between a first user device and a second user device, the relationship permitting status information of the first user device to be sent to the second user device when the first user device is communicating with a third user device. The network device receives the status information relating to a communication involving the first user device. At least one coefficient associated with the at least one video program at the current time may be identified in response to a determination that the current time is equal to the initial billing time. The method may include determining a usage based billing for the at least one user account based on the current time that the at least one video program is viewed and the at least one coefficient associated with the at least one video program.

The method may include determining whether the second pattern of TV commands substantially matches the model pattern of TV commands. An approach for configuring a mobile device to enable accident detection and notification functionality for use within a vehicle is described. An emergency notification platform receives position information and acceleration information associated with a mobile device. The emergency notification platform applies a rule to the position information and the acceleration information to determine an alert condition. A notification message is then generated for presentation on the mobile device based on the application of the rule, wherein the notification message specifies information relating to the alert condition.

A method includes receiving a list of sequential telephone numbers, and iteratively: identifying a first number and a last number of the list, selecting a group size, creating a group of sequential telephone numbers from the list of sequential telephone numbers based on the selected group size, and removing the created group from the list of sequential telephone numbers. Creating the group may include determining whether a first number in the list of sequential telephone numbers ends with a predetermined digit, assigning the first number as a start number of the group, and identifying an end number in the group based on the start number and the selected group size.
