An aspect of the present disclosure relates to a process for preparing a composite hydroalkylation catalyst including: (a) effecting impregnation of a hydrogenation metal on an inorganic oxide to form a metal impregnated inorganic oxide; (b) effecting calcination of the metal impregnated inorganic oxide to obtain a calcined metal impregnated inorganic oxide; (c) preparing a composite mixture comprising a molecular sieve, the calcined metal impregnated inorganic oxide and a binder; (d) preparing an extruded catalyst; and (e) effecting calcination of the extruded catalyst to obtain the composite hydroalkylation catalyst. The composite hydroalkylation catalyst prepared using this process affords dramatic improvement in conversion of mononuclear aromatic hydrocarbon and the yield of the hydroalkyled mononuclear aromatic hydrocarbon (e.g. CHB).

The present invention provides a process for preparing a zeolite by hydrothermal heating of silica precursor and alumina precursor along with a combination of two structure-directing organic templates, N,N-dimethyl formamide and 1,6-diaminohexane in the presence of an alkali. The use of two structure-directing organic templates, not only reduces the crystallization time but also enables the preparation of more catalytically active ZSM-22 of submicron crystallite size. The present invention also provides a process of preparing a noble metal containing zeolite catalyst for hydroisomerization of long chain n-paraffins.

A method for modification of pretreated acidic porous material via selective cation exchange using suitable solvent to obtain higher noble metal dispersion is described herein. The solvent system required for cation exchange should have its dielectric constant in the range of 25-45, wherein this solvent property is found to impart significant effect on cation loading and distribution, which in turn defines the stability, dispersion of the noble metals. The catalyst so obtained has higher noble metal dispersion and when used for hydroisomerization reaction, leads to higher selectivity even at significantly high conversion values.

The present invention discloses activated carbon-metal organic framework composite materials (AC@MOF) with enhanced gas adsorption capacity. The present invention also discloses a process for the preparation of carbon-metal organic framework composite materials (AC@MOF). The present invention involves the use of 'void space filling method' in metal organic frameworks (MOFs), which have been accomplished by in-situ addition of selected type and appropriate amount of activated carbon during the synthesis of MOF such as Cu-BTC, in the storage of gases such as methane. The gas adsorption capacity of these AC@MOF composite materials is significantly increased through this method.
