The invention provides a composition comprising an extraembryonic endodermal (XEN) call and/or an embryonic fibroblast (EF) cell. The invention also provides a method of establishing a XEN cell line or a primary embryonic fibroblast (EF) cell line in vitro, the method comprising culturing a zygote or parthenote from a mammal for a time sufficient to produce one or more blastocysts; and culturing the one or more blastocysts on feeder cells in culture medium for a time sufficient to produce one or a plurality of XEN cells and/or one or a plurality of EF cells.

Embryonic cell cultures and methods of using the same

The present disclosure relates to methods for enhancing cultured meat production, such as livestock-autonomous meat production. In certain aspects, the meat is any metazoan tissue or cell-derived comestible product intended for use as a comestible food or nutritional component by humans, companion animals, domesticated or captive animals whose carcasses are intended for comestible use, service animals, conserved animal species, animals used for experimental purposes, or cell cultures.

Method for scalable skeletal muscle lineage specification and cultivation

A method is provided of targeted genome editing of an animal using site specific homologous integration. A composition comprising a single stranded oligonucleotide or double stranded nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleic acid molecule of interest and sequences flanking a target locus cleavage site is injected into the zygote of an animal along with a nuclease and a guide nucleic acid molecule that targets the nuclease to a target locus. The composition is injected into the zygote after fertilization and prior to formation of a nucleus. The nucleic acid molecule of interest is recombined into the genome with high efficiency. The process allows for integration of nucleic acid molecules into the genome of animals in which the pronuclei cannot be visually observed during injection.
