The present invention provides a flexible storage bag having an opening, a closure system for the opening, and a closure indicator. The closure indicator provides an audibly detectable signal upon closure, and optionally opening, of the closure system. The closure system may provide a seal which is preferably closed by a translatable slider as is known in the art. The translatable slider may intercept protuberances causing the protuberances to produce a snap or clicking sound as the slider passes over the protuberances. Alternatively, the closure indicator may be an adhesive bond which is disrupted by the translation of the slider. The closure indicator is passive, meaning that no additional action beyond the ordinary and commonly accepted movement of the slider is required to produce the audible signal.

The present invention provides a flexible bag comprising at least one sheet of flexible sheet material assembled to form a semi-enclosed container having an opening defined by a periphery. The opening defines an opening plane, and the bag has an upper region adjacent to the opening and a lower region below the upper region. The upper region has a preferential elongation axis perpendicular to the opening plane which permits the upper region to expand in response to an externally-applied force upon the bag, while the lower region has a preferential elongation axis parallel to the opening plane which permits the lower region to expand in response to forces exerted by contents within the bag to provide an increase in volume of said bag. The bag therefore exhibits increased stability in use and is easier to close.

Flexible bags having enhanced capacity and enhanced stability in use

The present invention provides a flexible bag comprising at least one sheet of flexible sheet material assembled to form a semi-enclosed container having an opening defined by a periphery. The opening defines an opening plane, and bag is expandable in response to forces exerted by contents within the bag to provide an increase in volume of the bag such that said the accommodates the contents placed therein.

Flexible bags having stretch-to-fit conformity to closely accommodate contents in use

The present invention provides a flexible storage bag having an opening, a closure system for the opening, and a closure indicator. The closure indicator may be provided by, at or near the edges of the bag which define the opening. For example, the edges may be sinusoidal in shape or have another irregular shape, such that misalignment of the edges occurs when the bag is open. Upon closing the bag, the edges substantially align and become generally colinear. Alternatively, the closure indicator may comprise a mechanical seal which becomes colinear upon closing. In an alternative embodiment, flaps may be juxtaposed with the closure system. The flaps encounter a change of position upon closure of the bag. The change in position may either be complete severance from the bag, or inflect from a first position to a second position upon closure or opening of the bag. Closure and/or opening of the bag may be accomplished by a slider.

Flexible storage bag with structural alteration of bag opening to provide closure indication

A food storage and preparation bag at least one sheet of flexible sheet material assembled to form a semi-enclosed container having an opening defined by a periphery and a closure for sealing the opening to convert the semi-enclosed container to a closed container. The opening defines an opening plane and the sheet material includes a first region and a second region being comprised of the same material composition. The first region undergoes a substantially molecular-level deformation and the second region initially undergoes a substantially geometric deformation when the sheet material is subjected to an applied elongation along at least one axis. The first region and the second region are visually distinct from one another, wherein the second region includes a plurality of raised rib-like elements and the first region is substantially free of rib-like elements.

Flexible, cushioned, high surface area food storage and preparation bags

A bib having a predisposition for folding or bending to conform to the wearer. The predisposition is provided by slits, notches or other features which selectively reduce the cross sectional area of the bib or otherwise provide a hinge line. Preferably, the slits or notches are symmetric relative to the longitudinal centerline of the bib. The reduced cross section may extend essentially continuously across the lateral width of the bib. If desired, the hinge lines may converge as the bottom edge of the bib is approached. Preferably, the hinge lines converge at a common point which intercepts both the longitudinal centerline and the bottom edge of the bib.
