The invention relates to a balloon catheter featuring&#x2014;at least on portions of the outward-turned surface of the dilatable area&#x2014;hair-like extensions, with the average diameter D, the average length L, and the average center-to-center distance P of the hair-like extensions to each other being selected such that a drug on the balloon surface covered with hair-like extensions can essentially be secured by means of capillary forces.

Structured drug-eluting balloon catheter

A stent made of a material having a low strength and having a main body circumscribing a cylindrical shape and radially expandable from a contracted starting position into a dilated support position, comprising a) a plurality of support segments disposed around the circumference and arrayed on one another in the axial direction each segment being formed by a strut meandering in its coarse structure in its contracted starting position and having alternately opposing meandering curves expandable into the support position made of flexible material; b) a plurality of axial connectors connecting between zenith points of at least a part of the meandering curves in the axial-parallel direction of the support segments; (c) a plurality of x-ray marker projections, and d) at least one stabilizer for stabilizing the strut coarse structure in its contracted starting position against radial expansion and being automatically detachable upon radial expansion.

Stent having radially expandable main body

A stent comprising an essentially tubular open supporting structure () of interconnected trusses (), whereby the supporting structure () can be widened radially with deformation of the trusses () for application of the stent, and predetermined breaking points () in the supporting structure () for fragmentation of the stent after application, and the ends () of the trusses () that are adjacent to the respective predetermined breaking point () having a joint design and which are provided in the area of the predetermined breaking point (), such that the ends () of the trusses () are held together with articulation under an applied pressure with the predetermined breaking point () broken.

Stent

A catheter () having an internal tube () and an external tube () which at least sectionally encloses the internal tube (). The external tube () is connected to a balloon () having an endoprosthesis section () which positions an intraluminal endoprosthesis (). The catheter () has stiffening means () located in the area of at least one end of the endoprosthesis section () in its longitudinal direction on the internal tube (). Also disclosed is a system comprising an intraluminal endoprosthesis () and a catheter () used for introducing an intraluminal endoprosthesis (), preferably a stent, into a body cavity.
