Aspects of the present disclosure relate to the sharing of synchronization information corresponding to content among devices in a communication network. An originating device collects synchronization information related to the presentation of content to a user via the originating device. The synchronization information is defined according to reference points related to the presentation of the content to the user via the originating device, including a current state of the presentation of the content and/or additional information obtained during the presentation of the content. Based on detection of a synchronization event, the originating device transmits the collected synchronization information, resulting in the receipt of the synchronization information by one or more receiving devices. Thereafter, the presentation of the content to the user on one of the receiving devices can incorporate the synchronization information collected and transmitted by the originating device.

Synchronization of digital content

An automated safety system for delivery associates is provided. The safety system determines safety hazards within a geographical region. Each safety hazard has an associated likelihood of causing a safety incident. The safety system retrieves delivery routes, where each delivery route indicates a travel path to one or more destination locations within the geographical region. The safety system generates safety notifications, based at least in part on the safety hazards within the geographical region and the delivery routes. The safety system transmits the safety notifications.

Automated system for generating safety tips for drivers

Systems and methods for efficiently managing item deliveries are described. In an example, a computer system may identify a first handling sequence of a first item and sequence steps along the handling sequence. The sequence steps may be common to a different handling sequence of a second item. The computer system may determine that the first item should be grouped in a container grouping the second item based on the sequence steps being common. The computer system may generate an identifier and metadata for the container. The identifier may identify the container to handling systems. The metadata may identify the items of the container, a first sequence step to group the first item, and a second sequence step to ungroup the first item. The computer system may distribute the identifier and/or the metadata to the handling systems.

Dynamic containerization based on a sequence of delivery locations

Disclosed are approaches for using overlapping geo-fences to confirm delivery of a shipment. A first client computing device and a second client computing device may be in data communication with a server computing device. The server computing device may receive a delivery notification from the first client computing device. The server computing device may receive a first position of the first client computing device and a second position of the second client computing device. The server computing device may then determine that the second position is within a threshold distance of the first position or vice versa. Finally, the server computing device may generate a delivery confirmation in response to a first determination that the second position is within a threshold distance of the first position and a second determination that the first position is within a threshold distance of the second position.

Delivery confirmation using overlapping geo-fences

Techniques for efficiently managing resources are described. In an example, a computer system may access a forecast for demand associated with utilizing a service during a time period, where the service is available from service sources grouped in clusters. The computer system may identify resources scheduled to facilitate the service. Based on a scheduled start time for utilizing a resource, the forecast, and an allocation of remaining resources to the clusters, the computer system may allocate the resource to a first cluster and may provide a notification about the allocation to an associated client device. At a subsequent time during the time period, the computer system may re-allocate the resource to a second cluster based on a current utilization of the resource, an update to the forecast, and the allocation of the remaining resources. A respective notification may be provided to the client device.

Allocating dynamic resources to service clusters

An item-providing system supplies items to a user device for consumption at the user device via communication infrastructure. The device may correspond to a book reader device or other type of device. The item-providing system uses a content delivery module to deliver the items to the user device.

A user can capture various types of information concurrently using multiple sensors of an electronic device. This 'scene' data can be provided to a service for processing, which is able to identify various types of potential matches and aggregate information to be returned to the client device. In at least some embodiments, matching information can be sent with the results such that the electronic device can match an element in the scene the next time that element is encountered, without having to contact the service again. In some embodiments, an attempt can be made to predict elements that the user might attempt to identify, and one or more corpora of data can be sent to the electronic device such that the client device can perform any matching on the device for elements in those corpora.

Disclosed are approaches for using overlapping geo-fences to confirm delivery of a shipment. A first client computing device and a second client computing device may be in data communication with a server computing device. The server computing device may receive a delivery notification from the first client computing device. The server computing device may receive from the first client computing device a first position and a second position from the second client computing device. The server computing device may then determine that the second position is within a predefined distance of the first position or vice versa. Finally, the server computing device may generate a delivery confirmation in response to a first determination that the second position is within a predefined distance of the first position and a second determination that the first position is within a predefined distance of the second position.

Systems and methods for providing a service to a device based on a capability of the device are described herein. A device type of the device may be identified based on information associated with the device. A determination may be made whether the device supports the service, based at least on the device type. The service may be provided to the device when the device supports the service.

Providing services using a device capabilities service

A processing device receives a schedule from a server, the schedule identifying delivery times for a set of items associated with the user device. At each delivery time, the processing device contacts the server to obtain one or more items from the server in accordance with the schedule.

Some examples include testing of software able to render a content item on a display of an electronic device. The testing may include capturing images of rendered portions of a content item and comparing the captured images with previously obtained reference images that have been verified to be correctly rendered. The testing techniques can be applied to conversion software that converts digital content items from one format to another and/or testing of the converted content items themselves. Additionally, content presentation software that displays digital content items on an electronic device, such as by interacting with rendering software, may also be tested using a similar technique.
