A method includes generating a future state reflecting predicted values for a future time for a plurality of processing equipment for an industrial process run by an industrial process control and automation system (IPCS) configured to control the industrial process including at least one process controller coupled to input output (I/O) modules coupled to field devices including sensors and actuators that are coupled to processing equipment including the plurality of processing equipment. The method includes displaying in a human machine interface (HMI) associated with an operator computing system that is coupled to the process controller a dynamic time-based representation for each of the plurality of the processing equipment including beginning from a time beginning in the past including historical values, a value at a current time, and the predicted value at the future time.

The method comprises receiving user steering information to control the path of the virtual camera in a scene; determining a primary target based upon a field of view of the virtual camera; and estimating a future path and a corresponding future field of view of the virtual camera, based on the received steering information. The method further comprises determining a secondary target of the scene proximate to the estimated future path of the virtual camera based on a preferred perspective of the secondary target; and configuring the path to capture the secondary target from the preferred perspective.

A method of rendering virtual content is disclosed. A position to render each of a first and a second portion of virtual content on an augmented reality device is determined. Each of the first and second portion of virtual content is linked to a corresponding physical document. The position for rendering each of the first and second portions of virtual content is determined according to a position of the corresponding physical documents with the position of the first portion of virtual content being adjacent to the position of the second portion of virtual content. Viewing zones for each of the first and second portions of virtual content are determined, based on the determined positions. Each of the viewing zones is defined as a physical region where an augmentation of the corresponding portion of virtual content is visible on the augmented reality device. The viewing zone of the second portion of virtual content is modified to reduce any overlap with the viewing zone of the first portion of virtual content. The first and the second portions of virtual content are rendered on the augmented reality device according to the determined viewing zones.

Method, apparatus and system for rendering virtual content

A method of removing a marker projected in a scene from a view of the scene. A first image of the scene is captured using a camera (e.g.,A). A second image of the scene is captured, using the camera (A), following a marker () being projected onto an object in the scene to indicate a reference location in the scene for positioning a virtual object, the second image containing a representation of the projected marker. The second image is interleaved with the first image. A data stream is formed using at least the first and second image to generate a view of the scene, the data stream containing data representing the virtual object as part of the captured images of the scene. The virtual object is positioned relative to the projected marker captured in the second image. Pixels from the first image are used as pixel values at pixel locations where the projected marker was located in the second image to remove the projected marker from the generated view of the scene.
